Hey, we all have our vices, I was hoping they can change challenge to regular food, like a Sub from John's deli. Private business is down. The hell with corporations. |

The claims of eating fast food is a lot like the claims of watching television...everbody denies doing it, yet for some strange reason they know all the commercials by heart! |

In recent months, I've eaten take out almost exclusively, mostly stuff that's borderline fast food like Chipotle or thai to go. But since I'm finally settled into the condo with a kitchen and whatnot, I've been pretty burnt out on eating out. But sometimes, nothing is better than a Burger King double cheeseburger combo or the Wisconsin mac & cheese at Noodles & Co.

I don't have a TV either. I expect to have my visa revoked soon for unamerican activities.

I don't have a TV, but I do have a 5 yo and 2 yo that like the toys in Happy Meals.
So, yes, we eat fast food. :) |

I was surprised looking at the McD's web site. It's all really generic 'happy stock photo' land. No food. Only products I saw were salads and wraps.
I can sense 'someone' redoing a cat in the hat style Seussian shot with Ronald McDonald though. Stuff of nightmares.

I don't see why "John's Deli" food shouldn't fit the challenge...well, yes, actually, I do see why the DNMC bitches (sorry, tired of Nazis) would vote down such things....BUT!
MickeyD's breakfast sandwiches are just Croque Messieur (sorry if I screwed up the spelling)
...Milk shakes and colas in wax-coated, franchise-branded cups? Soda Fountain staples.
Pizza...fast food at my house and, no, it's not delivery OR DiJourno
Tacos...fast on any scale
Chinese...seems to be the only concession here...
What about:
Hot Dogs!
Drive-thru coffee!
Kentucky Fried Chicken?
Soft-serve Ice Cream?
Burritos...
California Wraps...
Sushi?
Sushimi?
Kebobs?
(...what else did I miss?)
IOW, when did American Franchises get the corner on this challenge? |

Just thought you guys might like to see this. I know we're all familiar with the reality of fast food, but it might help for people entering the challenge. Ads vs Reality |

That is why it is called "Food Styling". Most of the stuff in the ads is inedible. |

That's because they use the real product in all the ads.

Just to add to Kadi's list:
Cheesesteaks
Falafel
Samosa...we have an Indian place here that's super fast and delicious.
Franchises I can add:
Dunkin Donuts
Krispy Kreme
White Castle
Krystal
Hardees and their dumb commercials
Jack in the Box
What-a-burger
Taco Bell/Bueno
Chick-fil-a
Sonic...any other drive in would work as well.
...um...yeah...I like fast food and ain't to cool to admit it. : }

I eat fast food. I admit it.
About 1% of anyone I ask says they eat fast food.
McDonalds serves something like 40% of all breakfasts eaten outside the home in the US.
Someone is lying.
- as to food styling - "the food" must be real, the 'props' can be fake. So a milk ad must show real milk, The hamburger may not be real. in a cereal as, the cereal is real, milk may not be.

I love fast food straight from the microwave.
2 boca burgers
2 buns
fat free kraft cheddar
nuke burgers 1.5 minutes add cheese and a light salad dressing of choice. really fast food and around 400 calories. |

Probably 60% of my diet is fast food. One of my criteria for choosing a house to buy was that there be sufficient fast food places on my way home from work.
It seems many people here equate fast food with McDonald's but I rarely eat there; there are many better fast food places. You can even get Italian from a drive through at Fazoli's.

Thanks to KaDi and RKT for their lists.
To repeat my earlier question, what's everyone's view as to whether Starbucks, Nero, Costa etc (plus small local coffee shops) would be voted down as DNMC? You can get food there, and it's fast.

I'm glad there are a lot of fast food places.
I hate the food, but when driving on the highway, they are good palces to stop and pee |

My friends and I used to make up disgusting names for fast food places too.
Some examples:
McDonald's = McDunghole's
Taco Bell = Crotch O'Smell
Kentucky Fried Chicken = Kentucky F&^cked Crotch Rot
and so on |

very small amounts, but i do enjoy a little wendy's or mcdonalds, and especially arby's. The Trans Fats and crazy sodium are the reasons I don't really have them too often anymore. |

If the food is really fast i can not catch it so I don't eat it. Actually with 3 kids with full knowlege of where happy meals come from. We have to hit McD's at least 2-3 times per month. I try to eat lite on those days. |

In a small town somewhere in Canada, there are two food establishments right next door to eachother. One is a health food store, the other a burger joint. The health food store's business wasn't doing so well, so they put up a large banner that read "Eat here and live a longer life!".
The burger joint's reply; a banner of their own that read "Eat here and die happy!".
