Better late than never...
Thanks heavyj for the recognition. I didn't read the challenge details until after the fact and felt terrible about entering my picture since it didn't pay tribute like it should have. I'm glad you liked it though.

Congrats to salmiakki and thanks chromeydome for the nomination. Congrats also to the other nominees. I can imagine chromey had a tough time deciding.

You got that right, sir. :-) That is why I "designed" the award with Nominations instead of second and third place--hard to choose only 3, and it would cause me too much stress to try! This way I can usually limit to around 3% of any challenge's entries, rather than lose sleep over trying to select only 3 images.
Could change my "handle" to IndecisiveDome I suppose! :-) |

Thanks alot!
:)
It is nice to have a pat on the back. My wife was really bummed out that this recieved such a low score. She thought it was her fault.
I told her it wasn't...but you know how wives can be.
This will help me a long ways in getting her to model for my future challenges. I appreciate it!

I haven't been a member that long..so my opinion probably isn't worth the paper its printed on. (or bandwidth)...but I decided to get in on this and developed my own 'ribbons' with a twist from my last name.
CRIME SCENEThis one was a great idea, and a fabulous twist on an idea that at least three people thought of for this challenge. I feel like I am getting ripped off everytime I fill up my tank. That is why I loved this pic.

I am a softie for old timey movies. This instantly conjured up the feeling of a 50's crime boss movie. I liked it alot. It should have placed higher IMO.

Without the title, it is just a picture of a shoe. with the title...it is so much more. I lost my grandmother to a driver that was under the influence...as have alot of people. Good job.

Hmm ... they seem a little large, especially next to a landscape image. And since they are not in red and black anyway, maybe they could have a little ribbon where the hearts are now. The concept is great.
egamble: Your comment about the "shoe" photo says it well ... sorry for your loss. :-(

Thank you very much, I was happy how this shot turned out. I thought it would click with just about everyone because gas prices have climbed so much. This site amazes me with some of the people that vote here. I wish that some of these people would look and see if they are in line with the rest of the "GOOD" photographers on DP....If they see that their votes are SO FAR off from everyone else...Maybe they could realize they don't have an eye for this :-)
THANK YOU AGAIN, I LOVE THE "ACE" Card! |

What makes your opinion so much more valid than mine? Or should I say what makes your 'eye' better than mine? Seriously that's bad medicine what you are talking about.
Personally, I do not see crime in gas prices. Yeah they suck but it is a business. Ever heard of Supply and Demand?
I apologize for this soap box moment but I can not sit idly by while someone thinks they are above someone else. and no, a smiley does not make the comment user friendly.
