I do have cats. (2) But if you get stuck you can crash in a room that they never enter. The house is clean. It all depends on "how" allergic you are... Alternatively, you can sleep on one of the decks on an air mattress... :)

If it's a room they never enter, I should be fine. I'll just need to take my allergy meds in the car on the way up (I keep them in the car).

Where exactly are we meeting in Union Station? It's a big place.

If I can find my ankle brace, I'm going to wear it..... anyone who was with me on the last DC meet knows why.

It says in front of the station. I'm guessing (and I'm only guessing) that means the entrance closest to Metro and the bookstore.

There's a liberty bell reproduction out there...go past the porters and the taxi cab lane....if that's agreeable with dahkota...

I thought the fountain in front would be the easiest place. I have no idea where the liberty bell is... Sounds like its near the fountain though... :) pic of fountain

It's between the fountain and the station. So, if you're coming from the station, you'll see the bell first. We'll just mill about and use our cell phones to put a fine point on it? ;)

Wake Up! Sorry, just couldn't sleep so I thought everyone else should be up. If anyone else wants to meet up with us, please feel free. All those last minute non-planners can PM me - I won't be leaving my house until around 8 so you still have a couple hours... :)

Harriet's.Or Harry's. Or there about. The entrance is on 11th St., between Penn. and E St.

We will all be at Metro Center outside at around 1PM and head over that way.

Guys, have a blast! Hopefully my life will finally start settling down a bit. I miss playing on DPC!

It should be a great day for the GTG!

Sounds good.

I'm off! I'll see you all down there...

Clara, I wish you could join us at some point...

Oh, COOL!!!!! I get to be the first to report that the Washington GTG, which is still in the midst of the night shoot, is/was a terrific event!!!

I met yet more deranged DPC types who shouldn't be allowed out in public (Skip), who are fun but annoying (Skip), and who are a lot of fun in spite of their weird/bad habits (Skip).

I met Skip too.......8>)

Seriously, the event went off well with minimal confusion as to meeting places and gatherings, at the Zoo and in town followed by an afternoon at Arlington Cemetery followed by a terrific BBQ by the Maestro hisself, Jeffrey and his better half, Lindsey.

Kudos and many thanks to our gracious hosts, and I hope that the night shoot goes as well as the rest of the day.

I'm dumping the pics now and as soon as they're out, I'll post some up on a GTG aftermath thread.

I've now met another dozen or so people.....or more.....and I think teh GTG idea is just plain stellar!

#2.... ;-)

It was great meeting everyone today. I'm uploading some images now and suppose I better start a new DC picture thread or should I post them here?
06/24/2007 12:07:35 AM · #196
Since, I'm the first to post some pictures from today, I'll also give you a rundown of the events that took place and the people that hung out. I'll apologize in advance if I miss anyone who was there today as there were 20 some folks at one point.

Actually, instead of listing actual attendees, I'll just say it was a pleasure to meet everyone who made it today. I have to say, you are all a bunch of good folks and it was a joy hanging out with you today. I'm sorry, I didn't make the cook out and night shooting, but my body is telling me that perhaps it's a good thing I did. ;-)

I think I'll start a new DC GTG photo thread if that's ok with you all as this thread has already gotten a bit long. The link to my images from today is here:

I had a GREAT time and so enjoyed meeting you all. Like LanceW I could not hang for the BBQ and night shoot, but it was a terrific day. I guess I'll have something to show for it, as time permits. Hmm, maybe a June free study?

Skip, you don't shoot nearly enough frames. Slacker.
