I'm slow, as usual...

Jeffrey, thank your wife for me - she is a gracious hostess and a great cook. Also, you have two beautiful daughters.

It was great meeting up with old friends and making new ones - I had a really great time! Looking forward to the next. Maybe Baltimore? :)

I'm so glad everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did. :)

sjcarter, ragamuffingirl, and nikonjeb's whole clan win the award for the longest day. I'm glad to hear you all made it home safely!

Thanks again to the following:
dahkota for being my co-organizer
maryo for going to Costco and driving over here with most of the food
timbrumley for bringing ice and seltzer
khdoss and vincedoss for bringing beer
everyone who traveled to join us

I look forward to next time!

Must say that it was a blast! Thank you again for organizing it levyj413 & dahkota! Jeffrey, you and your wife were wonderful hosts!

I had a great time meeting up with old & new friends. The day went smashingly. Of course, my day was pretty long, but I did make it back safely early this morning. I wouldn't have missed it for the world. I haven't reviewed my pix yet - as I'm still catching up on my rest - but I'll post some in the other thread as soon as I get them sifted & edited.

Thanks again!!!

Jimmy

Wish I could have found you guys! I didn't get to the Zoo until about 9:30 and I left me cell phone at home. How about those monkeys?! Anyone else see the turtles... um... well, you know!

National Zoo, at the Bird House. A gaggle of happy shooters.

I had a GREAT time and so enjoyed meeting you all. Like LanceW I could not hang for the BBQ and night shoot, but it was a terrific day. I guess I'll have something to show for it, as time permits. Hmm, maybe a June free study?

Skip, you don't shoot nearly enough frames. Slacker.

Since, I'm the first to post some pictures from today, I'll also give you a rundown of the events that took place and the people that hung out. I'll apologize in advance if I miss anyone who was there today as there were 20 some folks at one point.

Actually, instead of listing actual attendees, I'll just say it was a pleasure to meet everyone who made it today. I have to say, you are all a bunch of good folks and it was a joy hanging out with you today. I'm sorry, I didn't make the cook out and night shooting, but my body is telling me that perhaps it's a good thing I did. ;-)

I think I'll start a new DC GTG photo thread if that's ok with you all as this thread has already gotten a bit long. The link to my images from today is here:

#2.... ;-)

It was great meeting everyone today. I'm uploading some images now and suppose I better start a new DC picture thread or should I post them here?

Oh, COOL!!!!! I get to be the first to report that the Washington GTG, which is still in the midst of the night shoot, is/was a terrific event!!!

I met yet more deranged DPC types who shouldn't be allowed out in public (Skip), who are fun but annoying (Skip), and who are a lot of fun in spite of their weird/bad habits (Skip).

I met Skip too.......8>)

Seriously, the event went off well with minimal confusion as to meeting places and gatherings, at the Zoo and in town followed by an afternoon at Arlington Cemetery followed by a terrific BBQ by the Maestro hisself, Jeffrey and his better half, Lindsey.

Kudos and many thanks to our gracious hosts, and I hope that the night shoot goes as well as the rest of the day.

I'm dumping the pics now and as soon as they're out, I'll post some up on a GTG aftermath thread.

I've now met another dozen or so people.....or more.....and I think teh GTG idea is just plain stellar!

I'm off! I'll see you all down there...

Clara, I wish you could join us at some point...

Guys, have a blast! Hopefully my life will finally start settling down a bit. I miss playing on DPC!

It should be a great day for the GTG!
