hi Deb!
you should go up the Campanilla! you can only feel how much it is actually falling up there. Piza is a sleepy town, but it has many charming narrow streets.

Deb,

So did you drink it their way, espresso-style, or Caffe Americano? I want details! and if you happen to describe your meals in excruciating detail, I wouldn't mind that either... I do miss Italy...

griz210, nice job on the portrait, left you some detailed comments.

Deb, I'm so jealous of you in Italy! Pisa is a lovely town. I climbed the tower as a little girl of 8 years, back when it was unrestricted and there were no railings except at the very top. I recall being disappointed, though, as I thought the town was called "Pizza" and it ended up not being about pizza at all... :-)

ok, i was going to enter personification, until irealised my shot was anthropomorphism. dunh...

i'm just going to bed instead.

Hooray! I'm in personification. Not with the shot I wanted though. I got in trouble for the first time today trying to take a picture. A cop told me to get out of the middle of the road, LOL! I didn't even get to fire off one shot. So, I just happened to find something else quite by accident. I'm really happy with it.

Ive been out for a while but i just entered personification and bad. My bad entry is pretty good and my personification is so out of the box i predict a good 15 comments on its DNMC qualities.

4.75 both in the table and personification.

For Don:
I've had coffee both espresso style, and Americano, which in this hotel is just letting the espresso run a wee bit longer than usual. Both are excellent and served with a little piece of chocolate on the side.

Dinner last night was liguine with clams, and they were those sweet tiny delicate little clams that are just to die for. Had a salad with that, some wonderful flat bread, and of course a coffee - espresso. The very nice waiter also brought us some sort of liquer in little itty bitty chocolate "cups" for dessert.

All that butter will catch up to me, I'm quite sure, but it's SO good when you're eating it!

I'm in Personification and have a possibility for Good if I can convince myself to enter it. (It's very cliche... very not Team Suck worthy.)

;) hehe, yeah, me too.
tell me, I thought we were supposed to show feelings and behaviour rather than just copying human faces/bodies/whatever to "things", dressing them...

Description: Personification occurs when inanimate objects are endowed with human qualities or represented as possessing human form or personality. Take a photo of something non-human-looking that still shows human characteristics or evokes a human feeling.

To me, that means it only has to look human. Apparently people are not voting highly for things that only look human though.

I'm at 5.25.

...and they vote even lower on photos that don't look human but have human feelings:) ah, whatever.

My score also sucks in Personification - 5.14. There are a couple of very creative entries out there - looked through thumbnails - but mostly methinks will be a low scoring challenge.

Have y'all seen the 30 day Where-You-Live thing going on?

I have been having fun just sharing my littler corner of the world in images without having them hacked to bits in three to ten second bursts of voting.

It's a real pleasure for a change.

I'm really starting to wonder if I have the stomach for this competition stuff.

I usually really like the images I submit and feel really awful about some of the abuse I take even though I know that some of it is by nature hurried and insensitive by default of the voting process.

I had the worst day in a long time yesterday, and getting considerate, pleasant comments from people who are pleased to have images of where we live shared with them, went a long way toward restoring my faith in the goodness of people.

I'm thinking I may need a break from challenges.

I personally feel that the two I have entered right now are among my best, and I like them a lot, enough to have printed and framed the one, and the other is on its way to a frame......one is doing fair to poorly, the other is doing abysmally......

I would want this kind of abuse why?????

I'm with you guys on this one. It seems, based on another thread, that if something possesses some human looking traits, it's no good. But, if you take a lamp and shape it into a human form, you get a 10.

Right now I have 5 so-so comments on Personification. I'm not looking at my scores anymore but I'm sure based on the above comment of mine, I'm probably not doing well.

By the way, TEAM SUCK ROCKS!!!!

I was a little disappointed with the nude results. I thought our kashi's photo was underrated. Here are a few others (I also posted them on the underrated thread so photogs would hopefully see):

You know Jeb, If Annie Leibovitz (sic) was to enter her shots into DPC, she would probably get destroyed. What does that say about the voting population here. Her shots make you think and that is not a good thing here.

That's why I love team suck so much, they CAN think and they're willing to do it!!!

Well, thank you.

It looks like the low lighting hurt me - but I thought it suited the photo (seeing as he was supposed to be asleep after all)

Sorry guys, I didn't vote in the nude challenge. I guess I don't know what constitutes a good nude shot. As far as I'm concerned, all the naked women looked good. Therefore, I didn't want to vote just on that criteria.

I've gone up to a 5.4 with 2 more votes, but still no comments here either. I usually don't get many unless I've screwed something up, LOL.
