LOL :-) I love your honesty, Bob.

Thanks for the comments. I agree on the tonal range i just dont know how the get it. any ideas? I have just started expermenting converting to B&W and havnt found a way i like yet. i done this one with
Adobe literoom.
Thanks again

Assuming that you have the channel mixer feature as in PS, go to that and click on monochrome.....or experiment to see a combination that works.

A trick I was taught was to have the various values you choose add up to 100.

YMMV.....

I make wicked good clam linguini.....if you're ever in central Pennsylvania, I only ever need about half an excuse to whip up a batch.

I make it slightly different than the norm, but it's very tasty and the result of years of refining my style.

Drat! Now I'm hungry!!!

Edit: Dratted typos!

Thanks Jeb. I only have PS elements and i dont think it has channel mixer. But i may be wrong. I didnt think you could dodge or burn with it until last week and Sandyp sent me instructions how. So i may just not know where it is.

Hi everyone

So this is where y'all have been hiding!

My Personification score is doing some MAJOR suckage at 3.4447 or someting wild like that. And not a frickin single comment. At least Table is still around 5.4. I just voted on most of the Personification and left comments if I liked/disliked a shot. Oh well...

Welcome new Suck teams and members, you will have fun here...

It's minus 40 with the windchill here in Ontario, so I'll have shoot Good or Bad inside. My camera hates the cold. Will definitely be in for F&V.

Bye for now!

As someone who genuinely *likes* women as people, I'm amused to see that most of the challenge shots are of females.

Only four men in the top 30.

I would think that a photography site would be a little more evolved than the masses.

I think it's a phobia peculiar to Americans in general that they don't appreciate more male nudes.

The physical structure of the human body can be spectacular in both its female and male renditions.

I also like to see female nudes that are not dependent on the breasts for their effectiveness....I like light, shadows and suggestion.....you're saying, "Uh huh, Uh huh", right, Svetlana?

That girl knows how to do portraits and nudes on a level that is really special.

I was glad to see that the winner had both a man and a woman.

I have CS2 and a mentor, and I *still* don't have a clue as to were many of the features are.

Heck, I'm still running on the basics of my camera.....at least I never shoot on anything but full manual any more.

I love it that I finally understand how to use aperture, shutter speed, the exposure meter, and the histogram.

Couple decades and a zillion shots later, I might actually get the hang of it!

'K!

2-4 Cloves of Garlic, finely chopped, or at least the equivalent minced from the jar
1/3 cup Olive oil
2-3 6.5 oz. cans Chopped Clams, (Drained, save Juice!)
(Or fresh if you can get 'em!)
2 Tbsp. Chopped Parsley
Dash of Pepper

In a 2 Qt. saucepan, Cook Garlic 'til right 8>), add clam juice, pepper, and parsley.....bring to boil, back off heat and simmer for five minutes, add clams and warm.

Cook one pound linguini of your choice, slightly underdone*

*WHERE MY RECIPE DIFFERS....

I always hated the puddle on my plate and having to kind of self-stir/marinate the linguine on the plate.....like it's not a messy sport to begin with!

What I do is to slightly undercook the linguini, drain it, put it back in the pot, then CAREFULLY cook the clams and sauce into it.

Why I say carefully is because if you overdo it, it will become a glue-like pasta clot with clams and garlic!

It just seems to be a little better done this way IMO, and it becimes a preference thing as to how much you cook the clams and sauce in.....those of you REAL cooks know what I mean!

Oh, and the best thing?

I virtually always have what I need in the pantry and I can have it on the table in 20-25 minutes flat after walking in the house.

Adjust your amounts of garlic, parsley, clams, and pepper to taste.

Enjoy!

Hey, since we seem to be into portraits, gimme a looksee/howzat for this one of my little princess, Eleanor.

I like this as much as any pic I've ever taken and it is hands down one of, if not the best portraits I've done.

So I'm not really worried about what you think (Lying!!!), but I want to know!....8>)

Hey! I said fresh right below that!

Besides......if you saw what comes out of the Susquehanna, you'd get canned ones too!

I was spoiled years ago by going to school in Maine, so the local ones don't cut it.

I'm just speculating here, though I do believe that people who generally have fancier cameras are the ones who have some nice lighting setups, which generally is pretty crucial to nudes. Just a thought (I don't know many people with the consumer models with lighting setups).

Not yet, but I've gotten a few really nice comments in general. I didn't delve outside my norm much on this one, unlike the Mini shot from fill the fram challenge.

I just received an interesting comment on my Personification entry:

"imo would be more effective if the photo were bigger"
