not technically very good, but I like it as it captures the joy our visit brought. Bailey(dog) and I were visiting a rest home, part of our SPCA Animal Friends program.

Me too!
But I still love this one, not for the ribbon, but because my kids actually got along for a few minutes to allow this magical shot to happen! ;o)

isn't it funny how we rely on photographs to provide future proof to our children that they were able to get along... |

here's one of my favorites that I have taken. Not only because I love the subject matter, but because no one ever guesses that the spiders are dead. They were in my cabin at my hunting lease. The red one I killed with red spray paint, or at least thought I did. Three weeks later when I came back there he was still alive. This time I shot him with spider spray. When I went to get him and throw him out, the black widow came out of nowhere and tried to land on my hand to bite me! Well I killed it too. Being the arachnophobe that I am, I picked them up by the legs with a pair of needlenose pliers to toss them outside. As I did I had the wild notion to pose them and take a picture. I am sure they never expected to become my photo models. At least they didn't charge a fee!

My recent favorite is something I took quite recently. I like it because of my subjects and the effort of standing under the heat of the sun for quite sometime before finally getting them to show this kind of expression. Here it is:

That's a hard question but I guess it is this one. I took it in January along the Skagit River in Washington. The bald eagles were there because the chum salmon were spawning. This one was seatted on a stump along the bank of the river.
