Now I get why you took all those self portraits. Awesome shot!

Beautifully atmospheric...maybe just too contemporary for the "Fairy Tale" challenge, but a definite winner in a "Horror" genre or a free study.

Congratulations on your 20th placing. A wicked b/w with so many undertones to touch a tender and nostalgic chord in almost everyone that sees this image. Great comp and subject matter.

I enjoyed this but didn't vote the challenge. This was the best I saw but I thought it was maybe jj's. Good job.

Brilliant composition. Black/white is perfect to accentuate the macabre feel and an outstanding location to pull this one off. 10

Surely a night when ghosts will walk. Great mood shot, the black and white really works well here.

Unsettling. evocative, well composed. B & W makes this shot. The longer I gazed the more it grew on me. Still not sure I 'like' the fell of it, but a 10 none the less.

this is so good.
I wish I didn't see so much of his face, just a little to make my imagination give him more creepiness!

Now then. I like the shot, in a way - certainly admire the technical achievement of it, at least. But I dislike the posed-ness of it, the fabrication of it. Too much to do with fashion photography, the rule of style over content, a kind of contrived moodiness, and perhaps an over-simplification of, well, everything. It wouldn't look out of place as a Prince album-cover, I shouldn't imagine - which is exactly what I think I don't like about it. Probably an 8 for technique (lacking a true touch of the bizarre, that killer composition). Creatively - a 3.
