Well it looks like the link works so feel free to upload your RAW files there if you like. If you do please add your screen name to the title. Once the selection committee picks the 10 images I will remove the non-selected images from the folder to make it easier to download the challenge images.

Please make sure you still upload a hi-res jpeg here as well.

I would like to give this a go. I will pick out am image. Newb question: I am not sure how to upload a full sized image to DPC. I should be able to figure out how to upload a RAW version to EntourageBox.

Just choose a full size image and upload to your workshop just as you would for a small image. Once done and you link to it we can click the view full size link and save the image.

Sorry, just saw this..... Are we doing a theme? Ive noticed a lot of people uploading portraits. Then again, I uploaded a portrait last time.... :)

No theme this time, maybe next time. I'm a little afraid if we do it that way there will be less interest. But I see the reasoning behind it. We'll talk about it.

while i really don't like portraits, i guess the challenge would be good to learn from.... which is the point of all this, right?

Maybe we need to come up with a short list of possible themes.

Landscapes
People
Abstract
Architecture

Another thought that popped into my head... if we are running multiple PPChallenges over the next few months, maybe we only have 3 to 5 photos to work on in a week instead of 10... more time for each image, don't scare people away by making the effort required too much...

I'm all for starting to do themed one. It actually might bring people in rather than the opposite now that I think about it. However, running multiple PPChallenges over the next few months isn't really sticking with me so well. It would simply be too many threads and edits and originals and points to keep up with. I'm doing this all "by hand". I do agree that 10 images in 1 week is a challenge, but a challenge, non-the-less. It certainly isn't a requirement to be a participant. I don't think I've ever completed all 10, but I certainly admire those that do, and I learn a lot.

Thoughts? Perhaps I'm a little skeptical about trying to fix what ain't broke.

sorry for the confusion... i was referring to this exchange in PPChallenge 2013 Editor's Thread thread (post #55 )

Maybe there is already a thread running, but something like a round-robin ongoing PP challenge would be great, too. One person posts, everyone has a week to post edits, then the winner gets to post a photo, on and on.

It's definitely going to happen a little more often. I think the reason it fizzled out last time was that I was doing it a little too often so this time I'm going to pace myself. I think that was 2009. The round-robin type thing you mention has been tried before, people lose interest I think. What keeps this type of layout interesting, IMO, is the original post itself. It's so pretty!

Seriously though, I'm always up for suggestions on improvement or otherwise. There was definitely a lot of tweaking going on in 2009 and this is where we left off. Timewise, I was figuring 1 week sign-up, 1 week editing, 1 relaxing week gathering results, 1 week off, then repeat... so once a month.

once a month or once every 1.5 months is fine with me... thanks again for running it!

I'm against the theme idea. The diversity keeps it interesting. If I were asked to edit a dozen portraits in a row I'd likely not enjoy it all that much.

May I suggest that participants post their whole set of entries at once? Just to keep that thread clean.

Off to find an image...

If everybody does that it would be a huge headache for me for several reasons. I keep the original post pretty darn clean, don't I? :) Plus, I like seeing them drizzle in all week a couple at a time. Further, copy/pasting 200 pictures at the end of the week would be a nightmare for me.
