It's my first voting in the States (excited :)

This is my 10th presidential election. I won't mention my vote choices, but I never failed to vote. On review, my vote went to the loser seven times out of the ten elections. That's not a very good record. Hoping my results improve today. However, my gut feeling (and the sum of all fears) is that we won't know the winner until about November 28.

This is my 5th time voting for pres..I voted on the winner twice and the looser twice...I hope that this time I voted on the winner so I can break the tie

I went at lunch, the line was out the door. It doesn't help that the ballot is a 3 pager this time either.

At 9:30am PST there was no line at my polling place, and I also had a 3 pager (5 sides). Did my homework in advance and was out of there pretty quickly with my bright red "I Voted" sticker.

I thought she was running for President?

When I finished at about 10:50 PST there were maybe four people waiting to check in, and six or eight people voting. I was voter #192 to submit a ballot, and at least three people dropped off absentee ballots while I was there.

This is pretty funny. I love when interviewers ask a follow up question for someone to explain their assertions!

Voters say the darnest things.

No, no, she's running for the seat Dianne Feinstein currently holds. Like Brennan, I thought it was pretty precious, too.

You are correct ΓΆ€” she's running with Cindy Sheehan for Prez/VP representing the Peace and Freedom Party ... at least in North Oakland ....

ETA: Voted absentee ballot so didn't have to stand in line.

I'm confused; according to this, she heads the slate of the Peace and Freedom Party... //www.peaceandfreedom.org/home/

I voted around 10:00 a.m. No real wait, but a lot of people voting. The only line was for people turning in their absentee ballots. There was a person checking the ballots to make sure the envelope was filled out correctly. If you read the instructions on the back of the ballot (where you also have to sign your name), it tells you you have to fill out the return address on the front. If the signature or the return address is missing, the ballot doesn't count. I would say about every fourth person had to finish filling out the envelope. At my age I shouldn't be surprised at how poorly people follow instructions...

FWIW the Guam (Territory) straw-poll went 3-to-1 for Obama ...

There were HUGE lines at our polling place at about 11 AM when Penny and I went to vote. Lines were snaking out of the community center from several entrances. They had separate lines for each precinct, and all of them EXCEPT ours were very long and very slow. For some reason, we were able to just walk right up to the Precinct 2 table and receive our ballots. Easy Peasy!

I was wrong, you are right. She was the P&F candidate for president, not senate. And people wonder why third parties cant get the 5% they need for matching funds. Jill Stein, Gary Johnson; sure, ya I can see that vote. Rosanne Barr? really?

You are correct. She's gonna be the Prez, not a senator!

Congrats...

I always make sure to vote. One of the reasons is my dad always told me if you don't vote you have no right to complain.

If you do vote, then you are directly responsible for what they do during their term in office, both good and bad.

And persons who think the entire system is broken have every right to complain, why even bother making a choice when there is no sufficiently acceptable option?

Besides, I already know who will win... The one who's best at manipulating the general public.
