Well we have a very full team here, and rather than say we have to many, I am going to fill it to the magical figure of 50.
We have 46 now, and only room for 4 more.
First four in, will be accepted, and added to the list.
I am allowing this many, and not going to divide the team onto two as yet.
Quite a number of you are going to be away part of the month, or not able to uploaded everyday, so this is why I feel we should leave it as it is, as see how we go.
Just remember when you upload, please try and do a small amount of commenting on other images as well please.
Does anyone else have an opinion about this.
Please let me know. |

hey shez .. thankyou for the pm .
i've been wowed many many times viewing other pp's flower photographs in dpc, but i'v never been that into flower photography myself ..
having said that i think i'd love to join this group if you have room, just for the fact that it would be a challenge .. !! ..:)
i may not be able to post every day or comment every day, but i'd do as much as i could .. :)

You in  Roz and look forward to what you come up with..... Flowers with bugs dragon flies and the like..... I am sure you have plenty of bush wild flowers in your fire trail near you, and can also see some excellent 'bokeh' which you do so well. |

WoW Sher, look at all the people. Fantastic. Honestly, I didn't think this would attract this many people. Seems that the DPC community is hungry for some side challenges. Hmm
Maybe it's time to up the weekly challenge count?

We now have our 50 playing DPC people for this 'August FLOWER side challenge'.
No more can be added to the above list, but if some drop out, as some properly will, and if you really missed out on getting your name in, we can start a 'RESERVE' list here, and maybe have a second team. It will be up to you, but I will keep an eye on things, and let you know. Drop me a PM if you want to. |

What will the rules be for this? If we post a photo does it have to be taken the same day we post it? Or can we post shots on subsequent days, even if they were all shot the same day? What kinds of postproduction restrictions apply? Basic? Advanced? Wide open? What are minimum/maximum sizes of photos? Can multiple shots be combined? Can we post any photos that were shot prior to August 1, or must all be shot in August?

First of all no real rules here. Side challenges are mainly for you to have fun, to experiment and learn and play with new ideas. We are also here to try and comment on images, and also enjoy and learn from each others work.
One can post a photo on each day or close to the days.
One can also post two or three image if one has missed a few days.
One can catch up with photos if they wish if they are behind.
Best if photos are kept to the month when we are doing the side challenge.
One can do straight from the camera, basic, advanced, digital, and also layers.
This is a great time to play with new ideas.
It is a good idea to put processing steps with your image, but not essential.
One can do abstract, triptychs, collages, Black and white, duotone or sepia.
It is up to you what you want to do.
Sizes - Stay with the same as basic or advanced, unless you want to size them as DPC prints sizes, and this is mostly what I do.
Multiples are ok.
Just enjoy the time spent exploring new ideas and taking images of what you like. Look outside the box occasionally, as we do not say DNMC.
Take a look at my portfolio, and see the many folders I have there of side challenges.

REMEMBER it is only a day away, and we start this FLOWER SIDE CHALLENGE.
I will be starting a NEW thread on the 1st. AUGUST, where we will add our daily floral images.
I can't wait.
Wont be long now.
Who is ready to join me, with our flower images.
One or two people have already dropped out, and I have added another to the list.
Let me know if you can't join us please.

I'm already scouting the flowers in the yard ... deciding which to shoot first! Thanks for organizing this side challenge ... should be a good month!

| Since I am leaving to Peru on the 1st I went out today and took a shot of one to upload on Friday! Then gonna look for some neat ones while I'm there. |
