I'm going to stick to my kitchen for a while and see how many macros I can get into this month's side challenge.
These are my window blinds measuring in at 3 to 4 mm each. 1:1 mag. ratio
1st post in a side chal. Hope I didn't skip the rules section for posting in these side challenges. |

erg... horrifically behind on commenting. I spend a lot of time browsing while at work and am very impressed with the posts so far, just can't type up commentary while I'm taking notes and talking on the phone at the same time. I firmly intend to comment on 100% of the posts in this month's side challenge, but may have to do most of them over the weekends.

Day 4, my new toy.
I sold my Canon G9 "pocket camera" and replaced it with the new Nikon D60. When B&H gets the Voigtlander Ultron 40mm f/2.0 in it will truly be a pocket camera also. It is amazing how small this camera is. Here it is compared to my D200...

I'm not getting home until long after dark, so I'm having to improvise as I go for this challenge. It's challenging and I like that. I am learning more about what can be done with my gadgets, which is a good thing, and loving this challenge because it is inspiring with all the great images to see and talk about. I don't have much time for comments, so I am trying to get in about 5 per night, and pass those among everyone over a few nights.

Day 5 - Just got my reversing ring and filter holder. Set them up with my 50mm f/1.8 and the results are unbelievable. If you zoom or look closely at the image below, you can actually see distinct red, blue and green (RGB) pixels (they come out stronger before conversion to jpeg):

Day 4 - I took a macro of some sand and shells but was distracted by the cutest little puppy. So today you get a 2 for one since I cannot tell you about the puppy and not show his action photo.
The puppy picture will arrive in a couple of minutes so hold on.
 Here he is! Sorry I couldn't get any room for him to run in the frame, he was quick.
