This is a macro taken through a piece of a blue reflector that I found on the road. It has been broken and driven over many times and has some wonderful cracks running through it. I do not have much in the way of lighting so I held the reflector up to my computer monitor and set the monitor to full brightness and snapped a few frames. In other words the reflector is back lighted.

Very original subject and some creative lighting technique ;) With the cracks and the texture of the reflector itself, there a lot to look at and many different kinds of blue colors. An ordinary object yields a complex image - that's the fun of macro photography!

This looks like a nice piece of glass art, doesn't really look like a broken reflector :) nice job!!

i like how you found something that most people would have just walked passed without noticing or just thought of as garbage and made it useful. it's an interesting macro.

"Blue Hawaii"? Wonderful texture shot, and good thinking to see the value in this item.

I too was thinking right away that back lighting this may turn out really cool. Nice find and good idea to use it for a macro.

Great idea! I toyed with a reflector macro once, but never entered it. Since this is broken and may not have the backing intact, what would a backlit version of this look like?
