LOL We are getting some good scores on the Suck teams! I love it when we get in the top 25%, none of us truly suck very much.

I used to, but the healing brush and lighting adjustments are better in Elements, so I use that now. I still have PSPX installed but don't use it much.

Great new thread! And here's proof I can suck just as much on a new thread as an old one:

Chaimelle, you don't know about sucking. I've got a 4.68 going on my patterns entry.

On another note, just entered free study and centered composition. I used my new Sigma macro lens for both. Woo hoo!

Don't forget to make YAPPIE and OOBIE nominations.

Ok, so I̢۪m a bit excited but when I came home today I read my 5.7 on Harsh environments my first HDR ever attempted, and so far my best score to date. I gotta admit I danced a little jig. Hope the kids didn̢۪t see. ;p

Glad to see a few of us are doing well in Harsh Environment.

The entries in that challenge are incredible! It's going to be hard to pick an OOBIE for that challenge -- they're all OOB. I think these new Expert Editing Rules are great fun. There is definitely a big difference between the products of Expert and Advanced editing, and I think there is a place for both. I have had a good time working on my "expert" entries, although they are not being very well received. It's just so fun to pull out all the stops.

okay xianart, i cant express how much you rule enough right now. i took your advice and the shots i took today are worlds better than yesterday. your advice just opened up an entire new subject matter for me to work with.

i'm going to tweek the settings a little and go back out tomorrow. shooting in the financial district of san fransisco means lighting changes corner to corner due to the buildings.

i now have at least four candidates for centered and eighteen for free study. i'm going to make up the lack of activity this last week and a half in a big way.

All my current challenge scores seem to have settled down and are holding pretty steady at:

. Occupation - 5.2
. Pattern - 4.8
. Harsh - 5.6

Phooey!

exacttly how many can you enter as a paying member?
12/29/2006 09:59:05 PM · #64
I have been gone for over a month. Illness and vacation in Vegas. Going to go over the images I have taken for the month and hopefully I will have something to enter in the Free Study.

Any of the member challenges.

For the open challenges usually you can enter only one of these at a time. For example, for the current open challenges, Centered Composition and Fences, you can enter either challenge but not both.

I am really happy about this. I just hope it stays.

I'm glad you survived both illness and Vegas!

can you enter "all" of the member challenges at the same time if you're a paying member?

i just wanna make sure.

team suck has inspired me to throw down and go all out. i want to drop as many pictures into this to represent entropy.

12/30/2006 03:44:56 AM · #69
Yes, you can enter all member challenges open for submission - just check the dates to make sure for each one. The only "exclusive" challenges (ie enter one or the other but not both) are the Open challenges. Go for it!

And Don, muchas gracias and danke for all the comments - made my morning!

You can indeed enter all the member challenges.

As for the others, they are normally "exclusive" of each other. However, if you want to be sure, just try entering, you get a message anyway if you can't.

I will be in the wilderness of New Jersey and internet challenged for a couple days so have a Happy New Year!

Hello team,

I've got two photos that were selected as November finalists on Better Photo One of them is What's That on My Nose, which many of you will recall as my DQ'd HDR here. I entered it under the category Digital Art on Better Photo, so no DQ type issues there :-)

This is the other photo:

I've no hope of actually winning the contest, as the competition is stiff, but am happy just to have a couple finalists!

Hi all

Hope everyone's getting ready to have a great year...if my Occupation scores stays where it is I'll be tres happy (5.8805 or so right now).

I know one thing that has definitely made my day - that Death entry of the cat - the _#*%! who shot it obviously had multiple accounts and gave himself high votes. If you read the 'positive' comments on that shot, guess what? All those accounts are *mysteriously* closed. Hmmm.

OK, that's not exactly the most festive way to start off the New Year, but I do trust that this means we've seen the last of this ...person. I daren't call him a photogorapher.

Congrats Catherine! And good luck with that.

Mary, are you going to the Pines? I'm not too fond of them this time of year.
