Which challenges?
11/03/2006 12:20:14 AM · #4
does it have to be from a challenge?
11/03/2006 09:56:38 AM · #5
I think it should be open to any photo by blue R team, but I will submit to our dark lord's ruling on this.
11/03/2006 10:30:21 AM · #6
It's open to any challenge photo at any time, but I figured it would probably be from a recent challenge.

It's got to be a challenge photo, because the challenge is the box it is out of...

I'm a sucker for seemingly out-of-place things and black/white.

Not mine, but funny anyway...

I second this - this was my favorite of the challenge by a very wide margin.

the OOBIE nominees...

Team Minus, please PM your picks to me!

For this week's OOBIEs, to be picked by Team Chasing Butterflies, I select the following entries for Free Study. Now, I know it's hard to be Out-Of-the-Box on a Free Study, but these people managed to do it by breaking the rules of what a good photograph is "supposed" to have. They all got 10s from me, not merely for breaking the rules, but for being truly inspiring photos.

You call this a landscape?

You call this a portrait?

you call this a sports photo?

I quite liked this one from the free study -

I had a couple of other contenders, but they are being voted on now.

I nominate for an OOBIE.
I love seeing that a town hall like this still exists. Those two handicap signs (as big as the name of the town) are so silly -- some rigid gov. regulation I suppose. And nobody around. I think this shot is amusing and charming and nice photojournalism. And it deserves a little respect.

440th place in Free Study?
12/10/2006 04:46:40 PM · #18
free study is the most unfair challenge:(
there are just too many photos, too many good photos and too little time:( I'd say almost everything lower than the 3d place is underrated there.

And I'll 3rd chele's - I thought that was pretty darn nifty.
12/10/2006 04:51:10 PM · #20
I'll 4th chele's photo. Beautiful work.

I agree with you Melethia. Very nice abstract. I gave it an 8. It's definitely OOB to turn a grungy greenhouse into a work of art.

hmm...there are too many wonderful and highly underrated photos!
it looks like chele's photo with 4 votes is leading now.
dear butterflies, please give your votes , today we just must catch something wonderful:)
12/20/2006 04:22:57 PM · #23
hmm, since it's late here where I am and our deadline ends today I guess chele is the winner!
:)
please tell me who knows, should we create a special thread to it?

Team Suck is now accepting nominations for the OOBIE sucker. This is awarded to an "Out Of the Box" entry in a DPChallenge, something that meets the challenge in a creative fashion that DPC voters might not have properly appreciated.

Please review the recent Dirt, For Sale, and Pet Portrait II results. If you have ideas for someone who should get a OOBIE, please post your suggestions in this thread. It's helpful to have a blurb or even a poem about why you are making the nomination.

Please do not nominate your own photograph.

I nominate Kivet for this shot- this is out of the box and into the bottle... by the way I liked this one a lot!
