Looks like mine is going to be just below 6 for the duration. At this point, 0.0191 is going to be tough to make up. But, on the other hand, I have 15 comments and 2 faves. That rocks! |

I've seen cindi's entry. I've seen my entry. My entry is no better than her's.
Well mine's 0.0001 better but that's just spiteful jp talking.
I'm going to buy a number of alcoholic beverages for tonight. When I finally do the "Show Scores" thing I know I'm going to be drinking like a fish. When submitted I was hoping for 6+, now I'm just hoping for 5.0.
If anyone wants to get blitzed there'll plenty to around at Casa de JP. |

the comments are great, the most flattering ones on any image of mine - perhaps this will be a low scoring challenge?
The score needs to go up at least .008 to make my top 4 finsihers and push my old camera's last image off the top of the heap.

The scores are accounted for the moment they are entered. (Otherwise, all of us would have 0 avg score for the first couple of hours after rollover and that is not true).
Also, as with any other challenge, it is true that the final score differs from the one you have at 23:59:59 before the rollover. If you're up to it, check the number of votes/number of views/avg score at that time, and you will notice the drop in # of votes, # of views stays the same, and the score... well - it depends. I had my score go both up and down in the calculations.
Oh yes, some troll votes get knocked out during the calculations, too, even though they voted on more than 20%... |

| I am dissapointed with my scores but this is a very interesting challenge with this many entries. Hard to score them all and make it fair. Some great photos might get missed. I have a 6.3 now but I think this is much better than my other photos that have higher scores. |

There is some heavy trolling going on for sure. Within three votes, my score climbed up to 5.986x just to be slapped back down to 5.9736
Nasty, vengeful voters, a pox, a pox on you all!!! LOL!
I think most people are voting using the bell curve system (few high scores, lots of mids, few low scores). With this many images submitted and so many good ones, it will be very, very hard to score above the low 6's for most of us. It's almost a safe bet that you could add close to 0.5 to your current average score if this was a normal subject-driven challenge. This means images scoring 5.5x should be in the 6+ range.

My score has ranged from a 5.19xxx to 5.001. Haven't dropped below a 5 yet and for that I'm surprisingly happy. Especially considering this my first dcp entry. Picked a good place to start now didn't we?
I think I'm addicted to comments and the update button. That didn't take long!

Hubbie and I both have a pic entered and we are in a dead heat.. he has more views 351 to my 338.. I have more comments 19 to his 13.
but the score is tied his is x.8316 mine is x.8321.. I doubt we finished in the top 400..

Never ceases to amaze me when you look at the results. A stunning image receiving 20 tens and 2 ones. I am sorry but views don't differ that widely, the only reason for the ones is to help their own rating. |
