Whoo hoo...... it is getting higher. I just finished voting! I found that there were alot of great photos out there. I am not experenced enough to critique anyones work. I am not great with comments either but there are sereral pic that are my favorites! |

im sitting at a 4.49 something.
Wish I could say something though.. but can't without giving away my image...
I knew when I entered it that this image wasn't going to be winning anything. But, to me Its the best I have left. from 2005. Granted, its not the clearest, or best comositioned image.
but, for what it is... its the best I had. Once its over
and you can find out why with the short discription.. than maybe someone else will feel the way I feel.
But intill than. The 8 comments I have thus are making me laugh so so so hard. L()L.
Well not all of them, just a couple L()L. makes me wonder how they think I set the shot up? L()L
Just wait and check it out when its over. 6-;

tomorrow I hope to finish voting and start commenting... by the way, I love the comments I got, and it sorta makes me feel ashame I only commented on one photo. I'll make it up to you guys, hoping to comment on a lot of photo's!

In Best of '04, my score would have gotten my 57th place and 89th percentile. That's so comforting, ...even though I expect the same score will rank lower in this challenge given the sheer number of entries.

I wish we didn't have to wait so long to see how we fnished. I want to stop now that my score has peaked. But it's funny, for my Best picture of 2005, Unless it continues to go up a little, it won't even be on my profile as one of my 5 highest rated photos :( I want it there. It's one of my favorite pictures of all time :)
And 6 favorites! Woo Hooo!! I think I've died and gone to Heaven :)

Let that be a lesson to you about entering so many good images and scoring so high. ;)
I keep thinking two weeks is going to drive me crazy too. I've never gone to Las Vegas because I've always been afraid I wouldn't be able to stop, but I guess this is an indication of the opposite. I wanna quite while I'm ahead!

Why don't you just settle for "It sucks!" Then we don't have to worry about anyone's feelings.
If you looked at my profile you would see that I am mediocre at best and that is stretching it a bit. The shot I entered has already won two 1st's and then some and here it is in the 4's. That is depressing as hell and I would rather take the DQ than be depressed.

I know you have all been aquiver waiting for this post, so let's get it out of the way. I finished voting on the Best of 2005 challenge.
My first pass split all the photos into 2 groups which I scored either 4 or 6. 5 felt like such a namby pamby middle of the road score. 4 and 6 forced me to choose ... top flight or second flight.
A few days ago, I went through all the 6's and spread them evenly ... 6's, 7's, 8's, 9's and 10's. More than 50 10's which is probably a record for me. So if your score jumped up a little ... okay, it was me. LOL!
Today I spread all the 4's evenly ... 5's, 4's, 3's, 2's and 1's. So if your score fell a little today, I'm sorry but I contributed to the slide.
In order to vote like this, I have looked at every photo at least 9 times (beauty of broadband!) ... so I'm pretty sure of my relative rankings. There are some stunning stunning photos here! Almost all the photos are good and represent a step up from the usual fare. And there are a few stinkers.
If I gave you a 1, it's not that it was a stinker ... well it might have been a stinker but more likely it just ranked in the bottom 10% according to my subjective reaction. I am sure I will catch flack that none of the photos "deserve" a 1. My goal in voting was not to give a score someone deserved but to influence a photo's average score by giving it the vote I thought it deserved.
