Pollo Involtini al'la Nonnaby EddyGComment: Thanks to the folks that voted this shot a 7 or above! I appreciate that the 87 who did saw the time and effort that went into setting up this submission.
As for the "tilt", yes it is there, but that is something that is easily corrected. The preparation and shooting of this took a lot longer than I expected, which meant that by the time I got home from my parent's, I was very rushed to try and get the image submitted and didn't have enough time to do any post-processing. After I got up the next morning, I went through my shots again and I found one that wasn't cropped as tight (shot at 28mm instead of 32mm) which allowed me to rotate the canvas a tiny bit to compensate for the tilt. I used this as the source of my DPCPrints version (cropped to 1:1.25 aspect for 8x10 printing):

Lemon Grass infused Spring Rolls by JC_HomolaComment: Excellent food styling. I like the white plate on white background, but I wish the back edge of the plate was a little more distinct like the other three are. This definitely looks like something you might see in a food magazine or recipe book which utiliizes this "style" of imagery. |

Fluffy Lemon Cup & Spicy Pumpkin Breadby jab119Comment: More depth-of-field to keep the Spicy Pumpkin Bread in focus throughout the composition would have improved this shot in my opinion. And perhaps a spoon on the left side of the Fluffy Lemon Cup? Looks yummy for sure! |

Rice-Stuffed Cornish Hensby SonifoComment: This is a nice idea, but I don't know where to look! The color palette is very similar (oranges/yellows/browns) throughout the composition, which makes it difficult to know where to focus. Perhaps just a single cornish hen and a few gourds and things would have helped in that regard. |

Going Home by ToddhComment: Ok, this blows away my seagull shot! Nice and close and the positioning of the subject within the frame is great. Love the light and the shallow DOF that blurs out the water. Terrific job! |

Flight of Frustrationby snsComment: I have the exact same garbage can! Cool stroboscopic effect. But unfortunately this is "falling" to me and not "in flight". |

First Fairy flight.....by agwrightComment: I would have rated this higher if the little seed was floating above and to the right of the plant (dandelion?) since the challenge brief specifically says to photograph something "in flight". Nice composition and macro though. |

Birds Nest Tavernby ShiiizzzamComment: I really like how the slow shutter speed has captured the birds motion and blurred their wings slightly. Combined with the duotone coloring of the image, it really adds a sense of "feeling" to this image. The bales of hay are a great setting... I can almost hear the birds "cawing"... |

Future Pilot by SonifoComment: Excellent interpretation of the challenge. I think the modifier (in this case, the boy) is what will set this picture apart from many of the others in the challenge. Well done. |
