Hot Wheelby DefyTimeComment: My favourite. This detail shot tells me more about the truck and its owner than would a photograph of the whole thing. That's because it's a composition sympathetic to the particular character of the subject, and it's also expertly executed. |

asphalt dreamsby pcodyComment: A very good idea executed with skill and restraint. The frame and the subject are a harmonious pair, and just enough of each is used to achieve maximum effect. |

City Twilightby BlinksComment: Striking composition. The looming canyon of the framing buildings creates an original & effective point of view of the subject. The fact that it is one of my favourite buildings makes me like it even more. |

The Doorwayby ColeyComment: An interesting, thought-provoking photograph. The frame helps to suggest possible stories about the subject ... Is she waiting for someone? Her place or theirs? Or has she lost her key? Who knows? But it IS interesting, and a pleasing, offhand composition. |

Old Methodist Burying Groundby Bear_MusicComment: I've been away Robert, so I'm seeing this challenge for the first time right now. This is great; it does everything you & Ed Clarke suggested in a forum would be required to do well. Full tonal range, with retained detail at every point on that range, etc, etc. Plus it's a damn fine photograph even without its AA tribute qualities. Congratulations on this & on your exceptional contribution to the DPC community. |

Subaru, Hot to Handleby JohannesFrankComment: This is a great shot, well composed & cropped to capture the "Don't tread on me!" character of this awesome little machine. Of course, adding the text would probably ruin the look of your image, but it would still be a terrific billboard with no text at all, and the word "SUBARU" made just a little more prominent. But this challenge is just about the image, and yours is excellent. 9 |

Last year, one out of ten only considered Flu Vaccination a good idea.by jjbeguinComment: Terrific photograph. The title is the right sentiment but too long for a billboard. "Who's had their flu shot?" or something like it, would work better. Also a bit hard to figure out where the words would go on the billboard. However, I have not marked this excellent entry down for that, because this is about the image, and yours is very good. 8 |
