lighting here was very harsh, it washes out highlights and makes for some deep shadows, thus detracting from the image. softer light, such as that found on a bright but overcast day would have worked much better, i think. ~mcmurma

not a bad effort. the photo is sharp, shows the texture of both the dart and the board nicely, and the color is good and rich. that said, the lighting is uneven and somewhat dim. as a result, the large black void behind the dart is distracting to me. also, i would like to have seen more of the dart. (or even more darts!) ~mcmurma

Nice composition. pretty scene. a well used gnd filter to help balance the sunset with the stairs could have turned this into a much higher score. also may have helped eliminate the red ring around the sun.

it looks staged, but hey, it is a free study! i like the contrast between the flowers and the grass, though the flowers look a bit washed out. still, had it been a more "natural" looking photo i would have scored it a bit higher.
