I love the framing and focus of this shot. An excellent entry for black and white, too. Very nice job with the lighting... how'd you pull this effect off?

The vote span on this shot is really interesting -- usually, photos that place near the middle of the pack have a very normal curve, with little standard deviation around 5. Between 5 and 7, your distribution is almost uniform (if you'll bear with me :) The shot is amazing, though, and I still think it shouldn't have placed so low.

Awesome colors, and great timing. She really looks like she's swimming in a pool full of gel.

I liked this image a little better in the thumbnail because all of the blacks faded together. Could you adjust the levels on this shot to get the darks just a little darker so that they did? I think that effect would really make this image stand out. As it is, I'm just a little distracted by the objects still slightly visible in the background.

Very cool entry for the people challenge. It's kind of distracting knowing that the people are all looking at a different camera.

Hey Lianne -- great job catching the essence of "people". I agree that the non-set up shots are the best photos.

I think an angle just a little closer down to the water would have made this shot much more exciting and made the off-centeredness seem very intentional. The current angle almost puts you in a documentary-style mood.

The picture is very grainy, but I like the washed-out effect of the image. The girl is still very obviously the center of attention.

The framing of this shot doesn't seem intentional. His baskets are cut off on both sides, and so is his head. I think the shot would have been better if you could have gotten rid of one or two of those cut-offs ... or used your angle better to prove that you meant to do it.
