Disappointmentby arnitComment: I love the framing and focus of this shot. An excellent entry for black and white, too. Very nice job with the lighting... how'd you pull this effect off? |

Leavingby GordonComment: The vote span on this shot is really interesting -- usually, photos that place near the middle of the pack have a very normal curve, with little standard deviation around 5. Between 5 and 7, your distribution is almost uniform (if you'll bear with me :) The shot is amazing, though, and I still think it shouldn't have placed so low. |

Making Wavesby ShiiizzzamComment: Awesome colors, and great timing. She really looks like she's swimming in a pool full of gel. |

Selfportraitby manoloComment: I liked this image a little better in the thumbnail because all of the blacks faded together. Could you adjust the levels on this shot to get the darks just a little darker so that they did? I think that effect would really make this image stand out. As it is, I'm just a little distracted by the objects still slightly visible in the background. |

Expressionsby pnichollsComment: Very cool entry for the people challenge. It's kind of distracting knowing that the people are all looking at a different camera. |

tractor 101by lecookComment: Hey Lianne -- great job catching the essence of "people". I agree that the non-set up shots are the best photos. |

Dragon Boat Raceby BAMartinComment: I think an angle just a little closer down to the water would have made this shot much more exciting and made the off-centeredness seem very intentional. The current angle almost puts you in a documentary-style mood. |

Sunday Marketsby lisaeComment: The picture is very grainy, but I like the washed-out effect of the image. The girl is still very obviously the center of attention. |

The Labor of My Handsby Crystal StreamsComment: The framing of this shot doesn't seem intentional. His baskets are cut off on both sides, and so is his head. I think the shot would have been better if you could have gotten rid of one or two of those cut-offs ... or used your angle better to prove that you meant to do it. |
