Candid shots are, in my opinion, THE best people picures, so when my husband and I took our tractor out to the folks place this week, I knew it wouldn't be long before our nephew asked "can i do it!?!" ...then I watched'n waited until he was intent upon his task :o)

Hey Lianne -- great job catching the essence of "people". I agree that the non-set up shots are the best photos.

My son will like this one. I think I was 5 when my dad let me steer his flatbed truck...

I really like the lighting in this, the way it catches their outlines and hair.

Interesting shot, good lighting.

love the frustration on son and concern in father's eyes (for the tractor that is) :). IMO a tighter crop getting rid of the 'ugly' bits of the tractor may have worked better. Good DOF - shame they weren't a little bit further from the fence so that it could be more blurred too

lovely expressions on their faces!

Very nice colours and DOF. I like the concentration on the boy's face.
The difference between the older and the younger generation is alsodepicted by the difference in dressing. But still, the expression on the boy's (and to the father's at a lesser degree) face gives this photo this extra needed boost! Great!

Undoubtedly one of my favorites - the expressions! If I had to choose something to 'change' I would wish their faces were lit up more - but this is definately a "Kodak Moment" Great job.

Great photo. Makes you want to be there. Good use of back-lighting. One of two 10's this week.

Good photo, there's interest (what are they doing?) Good color and focus. Going through my list of objects, but none match. Good job, keep up the good work!

What a cool moment!

Great color, clarity. Love the expression on the faces. Very good.

Nice lighting. Try a faster shutter speed to prevent the 'action' blur in the tree.
05/28/2002 10:56:00 AM
I love how they both have the same expression! great capture

Good lighting, good composition. I find the word "KUBOTA" a little distracting because of it's size and colour. Not much you could do about that I guess. Great people-shot!

Well done! Photos like this are great... Memories like this are nice to have saved away :)

I like this one. Great concentration on both their faces. Nicely framed too.

I love the way the lines lead into the subjects in this shot. The look of concetration on the little boy is wonderful. Very nice job with natural lighting.
05/28/2002 12:56:00 AM
Beautiful story, good separation from background. Skintones a bit blue. I would have used fill. Still the focus and composition works for me.
05/27/2002 11:52:00 PM
Lighting and DOF are great here. Concentration on their faces sets it off.
05/27/2002 10:41:00 PM
Good use of "thirds" to frame the shot.
05/27/2002 05:36:00 PM
Very nice picture. Excellent composition. Great look of concentration on the kid's face. I like the lighting on this too.

Super shot and could be an add for Kaubota! Well done, good composition, color.
Nice work.

so serious
05/27/2002 07:56:00 AM
I like this very much.
05/27/2002 07:18:00 AM
is he taking it seriously!
05/27/2002 07:06:00 AM
A instant of highest concentration... a dangerous machine on the hands of a kid. Very good!!
05/27/2002 06:36:00 AM
I love the look of concentration on the boys face. Good composition, good crisp details. The only (very small) objection I would fine with this photograph is the fence in the background behind their heads. Not sure what you could have done about that though, unless you used a larger aperature and thus a limited depth of field.
05/27/2002 05:30:00 AM
Really sharp, great colour.
05/27/2002 01:58:00 AM
One of my favs this week !
05/27/2002 10:26:00 AM
Wow.... flashback. I remember watching my Papa do this with my little brother, and I was ***so*** jealous. I love the concentration on little dude's face. You get a 10!
