Nicely captured. I love the separation here but I guess you could also play around with the DOF to see what different kinds of bokeh you could acheive... well depending upon how long your model decideds to pose as well I guess :P

That seems like big DOF for f4.5 @ 100 mm. Super dog strikes again! Love that Katee. She would be good if she was not so camera shy : )
Thanks for sharing the fun.

Old time rural character enhanced by your processing. Much like an old photograph worn over time.

Ewwww. I just read your notes. Nasty little things, aren't they. I see how they got their name "Butcher Bird".

Great detail and bokeh.

great shot greg and very informative ..
i got a laugh when i got to the bit about the butcher birds preying on small animals, including birds, lizards and insects, as well as some fruits and seeds .. i feel sorry for the fruits and seeds now .. lol .. !!
sheeeeeeeesh .. amazing that they catch their prey in mid flight .. like robberflies .. :)
this one looks like a kookaburra or a kingfisher .. interesting .. and totally amazing that you got this shot from 45 metres away .. :)
