If I may ask a basic ? What kind of camera are you using? We might be able to share a few tips and tricks on how to soften that flash :) I noticed the stamp on the hand right off too. You know, showing the nape of the neck in Elizabethan times would drive a man to distraction. It was considered a "sensual" body part. Interesting that you chose this part of yourself to photograph. I think this is a very good example of art.

Try this: Go to where you will be standing, mark with red tape and auto focus on your tripod head, then go remount the camera on the tripod, change the focus to manual, set your timer, hit the shutter and run back to where you had your mark and pose :) hehe

OR, do the above and have someone else hit the shutter after you are posed :)

Try to shoot at a higher f-stop so there is more in focus and less chance of you missing your mark :)

You did very well for a 1st SP. Congratulations!!
