Cascadesby VonneypixComment: Nice place! I feel that the pan crop may have hurt this one in the voting. |

An organic networkby HighNoonerComment: I see it : )
The twists in the foreground trunks adds a ton of interest that would not otherwise be there. It somehow fits nicely to the overall effect of the gentle curves to the left from the bottom. |

Cat1.jpgby FarmrComment: Welcome to DPC, Jimmy!
That's a pretty nice looking long whiskered cat. The edge of the chair is a distraction in this shot, perhaps it would have made a better shot if the cat was on the chair. The good sharp focus on the near eye and the whiskers is very nice. This shot and the Cat 2 shot appear to have been shot in incandescent light, causing a little of a yellowish cast. You may want to experiment with the different white balance settings in your D90. That way, you can compensate for whatever lighting you are shooting in, and the colors will look natural.
I hope that this comment does not come off as blunt for a first comment. I found that the comments that actually let me know what needs fixing are the best ones for me, because I learn how other people are seeing my photos, and how they react to them.
I wish you a good time here at DPC, and hope that you will enjoy the site, meet a lot of nice people, and learn much. |

Rattyby SaraRComment: I am surprised that you spotted him. He blends right into the brush.
Most people do not take time to get a good photo of a rat in it's environment like this. They are wild animals too, and a part of the ecosystem, and are here to stay, probably longer than humans will be here.
Good focus and detail in the hair. |

It's Winter Timeby GiorgioBaruffiComment: A lot of elements make this shot unique. The two dimensional background, the crossing lines that bring attention right to the subject, and then there is that umbrella. The overall softness of the colors because it is in winter and overcast is nice too. |
