Originally posted by jerowe: I love this image, and think it should have placed so much higher, but you had a wonderful score. You should take lots more pictures of her! |

Tuesday's Goneby walrus451Comment: An excellent capture - not your prototypical 'polished' portrait - and i like it for that... |

Jonby CharleneComment: Charlene, Charlene, Charlene - What a handsome gentleman (Jon paid me to type that). A nice relaxed face, good eyes, but the lighting seems to be better on the background wall than on Jon's face. About the background, the lines seem to pull my eye towards his forehead rather than his face.

More Than A Womanby jonfrommkComment: Jon,
You know it is not fair to use a much better model than Charlene. If you were doing some sort of a competition, you won by a mile on mere subject matter alone...
Overall impression:
She's beautiful, your lucky, and she must be delusional...A perfect combination.
Photographic impression:
Really nice colors and use of the soft greens in the background to frame the subject. The lighting on her face is warm and she seems very relaxed and comfortable. I am not crazy about the crop - it seems a bit oddly placed. A closer crop more on her face would really have dealt with some of the flaws that other commenters discussed below.
I only gave it a 6 during voting due mostly to the pose and crop.
post script:
It is actually funny, but sitting here writing this made me think of the great Lyle Lovett song "Her First Mistake" - check it out if you haven't heard it before - it just SOOOO fits you.

by nixterComment: the thing i find most amazing about this photo - and there is a lot to be amazed at in this one - is the man with the balloons behind the young girl. is he real? is he a ghost?
fabulous use of high contrast (once again). |
