4 a.m. The Never Summer Range in RMNP, as seen from Gore Range Overlook on Trail Ridge Road. It was windy, but I secured the tripod. There were some clouds, but not too many. This is looking southwest.

I consider this image an accomplishment. It reached top 10 status. It fully complied with the challenge description!!!!! And, it would have passed basic editing rules. Thanks for all the wonderful comments. The voters who gave me low votes were silent! But, then they are allowed to vote in the dark of the night.

i have to give you props on doing this challenge on a high altitude scene..given the short span of time.

the snow covered mountains had made the photo unique, as compared to the rest.

Wow, I admire you for staying out in that cold for this beautiful long exposure. I love how you can see distant city glow. Fantastic image!

The desolateness of this mountain range and the vastness of the sky are all extremely well captured. I would like to see more contrast between the ridgeline and the horizon.

Sweet - these colors are beautiful, as well as the directional movement of the stars.

Nice photo. The mountains are a good balance to the star trails. The colours are good. Image may have benefited from a longer exposure (i.e. longer streaks) and perhaps a bit of an arc to the streaks.

Good shot, the setting is impressive and the colour variation in the stars wis very good. Perhaps keeping the shutter open a bit longer would have improved the look by curving the stars more.

I like how you can still see the blacks and the snow on the mountains, it adds a little bit of texture to the photograph
