Challenge: High Contrast III (Basic Editing)
Collection: Favorites - Ribbons
Camera: Canon EOS-40D
Lens: Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Location: Rickett's Glen, PA
Date: Jun 8, 2008
Aperture: f/11
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1 second
Galleries: Landscape, Nature
Date Uploaded: Jun 10, 2008

As long as I'm spending all that time and money on a GTG, I might as well enter something, huh? Probably not a winner, but fairly eyeball friendly. This one was taken with an ND filter and polarizer to allow a slow shutter speed.

Processing: Convert from RAW, Levels, B&W conversion with Channel Mixer, multiple Curves and USM adjustments, Noise Ninja, Shadow/Highlight, and a slight sepia tint with HSL.

The smooth water, lines and great contrasts make this a wonderful image. I think it should be a winner.

This would have been a nice shot without the halos from oversharpening.

Really nice but way too many mid tones to be considered high contrast.

I was going to just go through the shots once and then come back. This one stopped me in my tracks. Yeah the long exposure water shot has been done to death but I still like it and this one is great one. The b&w conversion works well here as it brings out some dramatic tones. Interesting compostion that allows your eye to casually explore the shot finding little nuggets here and there.

Great shot.
