watch me run (Day 5)by colorcarnivalComment: excellent shot michelle ... i love his concentrated expression and I LOVE HIS HANDS !!! ... great how he is totally focused and the ppl watching are out of focus ... i like the posture of the kid in the background coz he's not just standing there, he's moving too, only in a totally different way to your running child ..
i cant see a halo?? ...
noise ninja is a great way to get rid of noise....
also reduce noise which is under filters in photoshop ...
also the different blurs also in filters ..
i often do a reduce noise before resize and then again after .. it can get rid of the noise/grain a bit ... grain is a buggar eh? .. but to me this image doesnt suffer because if it ... could be coz i'm so used to seeing it in my own images & grain is my constant companion!! ... but after reading your comment again, you may not have been asking about the noise, but the halo .. i'll leave this in just in case you were ... :) |

for generations to come...by boysetsfireComment: a wonderful capture of the different faces ... their expressions, their different ages, how the old guy has his life etched on his face .. the flag adds an important element which gives me a another small picture of his life and a glimpse into anzac day .. the children with their joyful and happy faces yet to experience the gammut of pain that life can deliver .. hopefully in childhood that capacity for joy isnt beaten out'v them, coz its a necessary balance for the pain that is sure to come ... and i'm not being negative coz pain i reckon is just a necessary 'evil' for our growth ... wotever .... anyway, your photograph has brought about a huge emotive response in me which makes this something exceptional ... i especially like how the old guy is looking straight at the camera .. also that the image is a bit dark, but the stars are very white, which is a great contrast, and therefore very noticeable ... five/thirtyby UNCLEBROComment: just excellent .. usually this sort'v lean wouldnt be a good thing, but it works so well in this photograph ... its working for me because it makes me feel that this whole structure might be in danger of falling down, then i see the solidness of the poles and how they look just about rooted in the sand and i then think that this could be around for a thousand years ... so therefore i like this a lot because of the sort'v contradiction of feelings it gives me ... the perspective is awesome and this works so well in black & white with those contrasts going on .. i love the line of the horizon and the different texture of the sand against the poles .. you either get up real early or you like an afternoon stroll ..!!:)
edit after another look .. i just noticed how the rhs pole is parallel to the edge ... so maybe this will be falling down tomorrow, or maybe its falling down as you shoot .. !! .. border works well .. Message edited by author 2007-05-05 16:27:45. |

__by undieyatchComment: those brances are so dramatic and i love the design they create ... it took me a while to understand what is going on in the rest of the image ... my thought is that you are down very low and the foreground is actually grass or a path, leading into the stand of trees/bushes .. i could be totally wrong, but even so the contrasts between the branches and the rest of the image, in texture is excellent, and i love the play of light going on .. love those squiggly, just about silhouetted branches, they have so much movement ... 6by sevilduvarciComment: interesting 'urban' shot ... the first thing that struck me was the expression on that guy's face .. then the way the other person looks dressed just about for the south pole (or north pole, depending on your preference!!) .. great line of the fence giving perspective .. |

Cat-Pooby JutildaComment: excellent effect ... wonderful contrasts .. & except for the grass and a few stray bits of grey in the rest of the image, this is nearly totally black & white .. ie no shades of grey .. great look ... excellent composition and so well balanced ... |
