Young bull moose scratching his nose.by jimsappComment: I like the fuzzy little new antlers. Nice focus and DOF. I'm quite impressed with your lens. I have a rebel XTi and am looking for a good zoom lens. I have motion blur problems with my Canon 70-300mm IS lens. How close to the subject were you when you took this shot? |

Marmotby jimsappComment: Nice shot. I have never seen one of these. You got excellent detail with the beautiful texture of the fur, the front teeth, and the little hands. How I wish that white bit in the lower left wasn't there, but such is wildlife photography -- you get what you can. And you did it well. |

IMG_2273-Bathing.jpgby JerseyGenieComment: What I like about this photo is the curve of the bird bath and the stone at the top. I think I would like it without the bird. A nice Zen sort of image. |

Fly Away Heronby MaryOComment: Beautiful flight shot with that clear feather detail. The fish makes it even better. I love the wild mood of the scene -- it feels like deep wilderness. |

Water Bugby BujanxComment: These little critters are so cool the way than can walk on water. You did a good job of capturing the bug and the little dents in the water. |

Fossil on Logby BujanxComment: It seems over processed, but the effect is still pleasing. I like the way the shape of the fossil is repeated in the knots on the log. I wonder if you could reduce the noise without compromising the detail in the subject. |

small snailby BujanxComment: I like the textures and colors in this image. Clever of you to look for something tiny when there seems to be nothing available.
ETA: Whatever that is in the upper half of the image, distracts me from what I consider the beauty of the lower half. I began to wonder how this would look if you rotated it so that the rock was diagonal. Either that or crop off the top half making a mini-panorama -- a snail sized panorama. :) Message edited by author 2008-06-06 14:47:20. |

Waitingby PrismComment: I'm pretty sure this is a Cedar Waxwing. I can't see the wings, but the breast is buff colored rather than slate, and there is a touch of white above the black marking on the face.
References: Cedar Waxwing, and Bohemian Waxwing.
They are such beautiful birds, you are lucky to have the opportunity to photograph them. |

Mine, All MINEby MaryOComment: chipmunks are so cute. It's fun to see the little creature by the mountain of corn. The lighting isn't up to your usual quality. This might be a fun image to experiment with the lighting effects filter in PS (filter>render>lighting effects). I would play with the Omni light.
e.t.a: You can achieve similar lighting effects by using a Soft Light layer and painting with a low saturation soft brush using black/white to burn/dodge. Although I'm sure you know that already, someone else reading this might be interested. Message edited by author 2008-06-06 10:40:37. |
