Day 24by hajekaComment: I like rainy weather photography. The Dutch language sign and the bicycles remind me of my trip to the Netherlands (almost 20 years ago now -- wow). |

Day 23 - The Beachby bs-photosComment: It's been a few years since I've been to a beach. I especially like the color photos in your composite -- the top one really brings out that great blue sky, and the bottom one is a fun candid snap of the two of you. |

spoon-mobile.jpgby suitenessComment: As much as I question Coca Cola's position as sugar water supplier to the world, I can't deny how effective their advertising is. Old Coke signs are just cool. |

Day 24by kellyrc01Comment: Traffic is a drag. The only time I drive is when I rent a car. I think I'm a good driver (who doesn't?), but it is stressful -- especially coming back into the city.
Yes, there are other Austin people in this 50 day challenge -- that's how I learned about "Jo's". Be sure to check out the New York Times Frugal Traveler video profile on Austin. It's really fun.
What I like about this photo is how the sky is darker behind you than in front. It makes the photo seem menacing.

True Gritby ColeyComment: I'm glad you made the top 25, though I'd hoped to see you on the front page. I think this is a terrific photo and it was one of only three 10s I awarded this challenge. The toughness and intelligence can be seen in his face and you captured it well. |

Portrait By Window Light by scarbrdComment: Originally posted by scarbrd: Her parents cried when I gave them an 8x10 print. |
Why, what did you charge them?
Sorry, bad joke, the truth is I was moved when I read that about the parents. It's a great portrait and the child's beauty is only part of it. Congrats on a well-deserved ribbon. I'm happy to have been one of your 10s! |

Forsakenby SeanachaiComment: That looks like C. Thomas Howell, so I'm guessing this is the work of jblaylockrayner (apologies if I'm wrong). Good shot! |

Day 23, Eternal Flameby jackal9Comment: I wasn't able to catch lightning the few times I tried, either.
Great road and sky. I suppose the cropped version brings more attention to the flame, but I'm partial to the widescreen version myself. Maybe it's just the appeal of the water tower. Is that a grain elevator in the distance? Look at all the low buildings -- this really says "wide open spaces" to me! |
