July 21st:
I have been having a very lazy day today & it has been wonderful. I decided to take some pictures of various things & play around with them in photoshop. Here is one I took of some wine glasses. I just got Photoshop CS3 so I will be spending a lot of time trying to figure it all out (I have previously been using Photoshop Elements), so I may have some more experimental photos to come :)

Lol not what i expected after looking at the thumbnail. The processing is kind of funky but I love the blue. I also like how you staggered the water levels in the glasses.

Interesting shot, Kelly. Heavy PP would get your entry trounced if this was a voter challenge, but for experimenting it's just great. I like the three levels of water, and it looks like you chose an interesting backdrop, too. Keep up the good work, and hey, thanks for all your recent comments. It's a great way to have people check you out, and get great free advice (such as TC Guru's comment on your self-portrait).

Isn't CS3 fun?! I've never used any other system, so I don't know the differences, but I am still learning so many new things and techniques.

Nice experiment. Really like the purple lines in the bottom of the glasses.

excellent and different process kelly .. love that really weird background .. i cant think properly right now coz our smelly dog is outside barking like a maniac ... i know wot she's barking at so i know i dont have to respond ... her bark demands attention a lot like a baby crying .. its just a total pain .. i wish she'd STOP !!!
i just installed CS3 YESTERDAY!!! ... if you're going from elements to CS3 it'll be like WOW ... i started on 7 which my nephew gave me, then another friend, bob, gave me CS which is 8 ... then when he got CS2 he gave me that, which was so much better than 8 .. he sent me CS3 which i installed yesterday and had a quick muck around with ..
there are so many improvements just from CS to CS2 ... so you will be totally over the moon with the how easy some things are now ..
thankyou so much kelly for all your wonderful comments .. i'm very flattered, when i consider some of the excellent images that ppl have been coming up with in our 50 day side that you made a first fav of one of mine ..
i'm hoping you get that yappie coz you totally deserve it!!! ... it sounds like i'm making a sarcastic and horrible comment .. like 'you deserve it'!!! .. and 'yappie'!!! .. who other than a dpc person would think that that's a good thing ??!! :):)

Cool effect and congrats on getting CS3. I don't know if you're shooting RAW or not, but in CS3 it's incredible how much you can do in raw conversion, including curves, shadow/highlight, sharpening, noise reduction, this effect (forget name), B&W conversion, etc. I'm just experimenting with them myself and it's a blast. Have fun!

Ha, that is the great thing about this challenge you can just play with different ideas and hone your ability

This a fairly weird effect and probably not to my personal taste but the great thing is that you did it and hopefully you like it

Oh and I cant wait to see some more
