I wasn't able to catch lightning the few times I tried, either.
Great road and sky. I suppose the cropped version brings more attention to the flame, but I'm partial to the widescreen version myself. Maybe it's just the appeal of the water tower. Is that a grain elevator in the distance? Look at all the low buildings -- this really says "wide open spaces" to me! |

Jack this would have been another heavy scorer in the recent vanishing point challenge
The flame looks great slightly off centre and the positioning just gentley draws your eyes to that seemingly never ending road to the right

| I agree. Lose the water tower and then flip the picture so the torch is on the right hand side of the photo. Great sky and cool torch. |

| I say crop out the water tower there and you've got a really focused pic. I love the clouds - good texture and depth. The flame looks awesome! To the right of the flame, is there a straight-away headed into the distance? (Where all the green is?) This is a really cool pic! So much to look at. Too bad you couldn't have ordered up a lightning strike - that would have been fun lol. |

| Great image, Jack! I love the ominous clouds, and the fire definitely offsets the whole thing. Drats about the lightning, but whatcha gonna do about that? Get a cool shot anyways, apparently! |
