After yesterday's sweatfest running, today it was sunny and cool and I decide to go for a walk at lunch instead. Perhaps I have it backwards?

I took a bunch of pictures in the woods and on the way out I stopped at the field where I took the day 11. As soon as I get there I see this butterfly and quickly take off lenscap and get this shot. I got a few others but the butterfly moved and didn't come back. So I'm lucky that I got this shot at all, but unlucky because I was shooting at ISO 100 until the previous shot, where I changed it to 800. So another ISO 800 shot. Considering how it looked out of camera, it looks pretty decent here.

Nice soft focus, yet the butterfly is nice and sharp. Good natural-looking colors, too. A very pretty photo. I like how the slender stalks help frame the butterfly.

thats pretty funny coz i just finished writing on your day 19 and said about taking off the lens cap etc etc etc & missing your shot because of all that stuffing around .. and now i come to your day 20 and read about your camera setting woes ...
but OMG .. its like wotever !!! ... this is THE most gorgeous photograph, and it doesnt appear to have suffered at all with the iso800 .. that totally beautiful blur you've got with your bokeh .. amazing .. so soft, so lovely, those fantastic pastel colours ... everything about this is just beautiful .. a perfect image .. "decent" is right !!!!.. altho an understatement !! :) ..

I really like the focus and DOF on this. Great shot...You've taken some great shots with that lens...I ended up buying the Tamron equivalent(?)...I went with the Tamron because of the filter size since I already have filters...

Another magnificent shot. Love the processing on this one. Have tried to follow your processing on some of my shots, but they just don't come out the same.

Outstanding capture and the tightness of focus on the butterfly really works well with the soft pastel colours. Beautiful

No noise ninja or anything? It looks great! I may have to try ISO 800 to see what happens.

Your butterfly looks like it is in a happier place than mine was. Love the soft pastel colors of the whole pic. Very pretty!
