any other hue and I probably would not like this image. The colors blend so well and give this scene such warmth it would not otherwise have. It somehow lends it an emotion I don't get from the dead plant. The DOF is perfect and also enhances the overall feel of the image. The only nit is the strange lightened spot over on the bottom right. Still gets a 9 from me.

I love the tongue in cheek title - goes perfectly with image. Any other title would not be as effective. Like the starkness - works with subject. Focus perfect, tones and composition excellent.

my favorite of the challenge. Very simple still life with excellent tones. Light and shadow play wonderfully here - textured wall adds much. Great composition.

I love this image. Many people have a particular mind-set when approaching a challenge subject. I think this fit outside their mind set. Their bad, not yours. The composition, the colors, the motion, all set this image apart from most others. You did a great job. BTW - next time you're in DC, drop me a line we can go out shooting...

Hmmm. I gave this a 7 in voting as I didn't have a chance to come back and bump any images. I found this intriguing to say the least. The oddness of the title combined with the shadows started telling me a story. The story got a weird about 1/2 way through and never really got finished. I look forward to the next installment...

loved this image in voting and its probably one of the best uses of selective desat I've seen in a while. Way underrated, but I guess you kinda had to expect that here.

interesting graphic image but I think I'd rather have no person or her head. Its slightly funny with her head cut off like that but not enough to make me really enjoy the image.

Composition awkward. Not sure why you have the left 1/3 of the image - there's nothing there and the negative space doesn't add.The rose is in focus and colors are nice but not sure of your meaning here.
