This is a sad picture… It is also a superbly executed shot. I might not like the idea and I might not like being forced to look at something that I'd rather not see, but, from the point of view of the challenge you have to ask: Does it fit? Yes, and very powerfully… Is it a good photographically? Yes, it's damn good… Is the composition OK? Can't fault it… Did it catch your eye? Yes… Did it make you think or bring out any emotion? Yes – both counts… How do you score something like this? (10) Controversial, but gutsy picture…

This is a really good idea and the composition is great. But, I think direct flash has let the shot down a lot. It has created a glare in the TV screen and cast shadows into the bowl. Try the same thing using bounced flash and take a look at the difference. Other than those tiny flaws I think the picture and the idea are a great challenge attempt– good luck… (8)
