Fort Rodman.jpgby of-snowComment: I love bridge photos. And the urban feel of the black and white and the slushy snow. Yes. A most effective mood photo. :)

Sunset-in-B&W2Glow.jpgby 777STANComment: Amazing that you got something so sharp and clean while you were moving. Jeeez. I can't even seem to get photos as sharp as I need them when I'm still. . .with an image stabilizer. . .or with a tripod. No fair! :)

Prayer (Week 3)by booboo_goonComment: I love it ! LOVE IT! In fact, I think this may be my favorite one so far of yours. It conveys such a powerful mood. The added grain was a brilliant idea. Everything looks perfect and so intentional.

Lincoln cathedral (Week 1)by booboo_goonComment: The detail is beautiful! I love architectural photos like this. As striking as this is just like you have it here, I'm wondering if maybe Erik might be on to something. I put my hand over the foreground, and the building itself makes such a striking fill-the-frame composition.
Great job!

Three Miceby pawdrixComment: THIS is freaking FABULOUS!!!!!!! I love the textures, the contrasts, the urban feel of the scene, but most of all, I am in LOVE with the perspective of the 3 guys so small in the doorway of that massive wall.
This one would definitely get my vote for Photo of the Day!

Week 3 - Hannahby CapeSailComment: Jeff, she is precious! I think you did a great job. I'm trying to figure out the best location to place lights too. So I hope some of the portrait wizards, like Sonifo, will chirp in and offer their 2-cents. I'll be checking back on this one.
But I think this looks gorgeous just as it is too. I think TWMax may be right too. A total lack of any kind of shadows may make a portrait look a little flat.
As for me, I still stick to natural light whenever I can, but I'd love to learn more about indoor lighting.

300_0257-wk-6.jpgby salmiakkiComment: I'm so jealous of the scenery you get to have as a slice of your life! This is so beautiful. I love slice of life pictures. That was one of my funnest side challenges ever. Please post lots of your slice of life photos here too, okay? :)

Tobyby doc_gonzoComment: Ohhhhhhhwuh. . .I just wanna reach into my computer and give that huge loveable animal a big hug and a kiss! I love his expression. He is so engaged with you, even if he isn't quite sure what the heck you are doing. He is watching you with such devotion.
I love this!

Grounded, Flightby Bruce_the_RobertComment: What reaches out and grabs me about this is the unusual shape of that branch -- it draws you in and makes you want to look closer. Then when you look, you get the delightful unexpected surprise of the goose's neck and head. I love it! This is awesome.

Passing by (b&w 2008 #3)by nikolaosComment: This is such a great street scene. I love this type of photography. I especially love the human element added by the guy walking in front of the window. You nailed the exposure on this. The inside lighting is perfect. crisp. contrasted beautifully. I love it.
