"Will you marry me?"by jonpinkComment: This is a lovely thought for the challenge. But the black and white really takes away from the shot for me. There is too much sharpness and contrast between the finders and the background, I can practically take fingerprints off the man's fingers. Too much detail for a shot like this. A 6 |

Caught In The Actby channeledComment: Rut Roh! Busted! :)
A cute expression on her face, makes you wonder if you really did catch her doing something she wasn't supposed to be doing. The red eye is a shame and the motion on the left is also a bit distracting. A 6 |

Surprise Prezzyby stuartComment: Very cute, though not sure why it's so surprising but she certainly looks amused, LOL!
This isn't a bad shot overall, the candid nature works for this and the expression on her face is perfect for this challenge. The wine glass and bottle are a bit distracting but unless you cleared the area in front of her first it would be hard to avoid. The flash off the glass is also a bit distracting. A 6 |

Soar IIby shareinncComment: I bet those birds were surprised to see you! ;)
A great shot, I like the colors of the horizon, the birds, but the DOF bothers me on this shot for some reason. I know the birds in the front are closer, there fore sharper but the others seem just a bit too blurry for the distance implied.
I started at a 6, am going to a 7 |

Dad's Tabasco Surprise!by scrum8Comment: How mean! I hope this wasn't real, LOL!
The look is very good, very realistic. The lighting is a bit bright on the left and the right is rather dull. An overall balance would really make this shot work or even a frontal shot to see the shock in both his eyes!

GUESS What I Found?by GeneralEComment: And this is a surprise to you? :)
This isn't very surprising overall but the shot is well done. The colors work well for this shot and I like the set up, the upper right is a tad blown out, started at 6, moving to an 8 |

My Camera is Not Deductible!?by jaimeegrlComment: But mine will be, LOL! I bought it specifically for my business, :)
A good idea but the contrast and brightness are missing from this picture, the mouth is a bit fuzzy while the letter, in the same DOF (to me), seems the whole shot should be clearer.
Started with a 6, going to a 7 |

Air Attackby pitsamanComment: That would be quite the surprise on the duck, no?
A good idea and excellent capture but the pigdon is already past the duck from what I can see so the element of surprise is kinda lost to me. And the water seems almost too sharp as does the duck, it has a very sharp line around it on my monitor and I can't quite place my finger on it but the colors seem just too bright for some reason. Guess What's Insideby ScottKComment: These days it would be a tattoo or a little sticker, they don't pack much of a surprise anymore. This is a good shot overall but the cracker jacks seems a bit over sharp and where are those peanuts? That's the best part! :)
The white background is a good choice but seems a bit blown out on the right hand side. Started with a 6, going to an 8 |

Snack time - Hey who did that?by wkmenComment: What a cute idea! Turn your head for a second and WHAM, part of one is missing or in my house, the whole pile would be gone, LOL!
I like this idea but the cookies would have looked better on a plate instead of the paper towel or even a plain napkin, no distracting patterns. The light is also a bit harsh, though well distributed on both sides, I'm betting a split screen shot, my Olympus can do that also, it's a fun feature to use sometimes. A 6 |
