What is this? It looks desserty but.. are those olives? I like the off-kilter perspective, but I think more lighting on the subject, as well as a different background might have helped. It looks too dark to me - I have difficulties enjoying the layered look of the concoction because the lighting doesn't highlight that detail. 6

Those are some odd looking mushrooms. I like the cool blue of the one mushroom contrasting with the warm lighting and colors of the grass/leaves. Focus works well for me and the composition is nice. I covered much of the top half and found that I liked it better without that large expanse of soft focus background, the crispness of the focus on the foreground really draws my eyes, but I find them straining as they stray up to the top. Nicely done! 7

Cute photo, but he looks kinda lean to me ;) Lighting is good, the darker color scheme is nice. Has a good open feel to it. I do feel it leans more towards a humor challenge than actual recipe/food - but since folks have been known to eat them.. 7

Wow, very abstract. A different take and look. I like the colors and the way they manifest because of the veins/layers of the onion. I like its uniqueness but find it a bit rough for my personal tastes. Interesting vision. The whites are a bit harsh, not sure if that would've been possible to change. 6

Nicely accented. This is a very 'cool' toned photo, I like the way all the colors tie in. Everything looks crisp and very appealing. Only suggestions I have would be a bit more light on the face of the muffin, and to turn one of the muffins so the hint of powdered sugar would be more obvious - possibly give more depth and contrast. Wonderful job. 8

These look very good! Must've taken forever! The light is pretty good, and I like the presentation of the fowl - but I do find the photo overall to be a bit busy. There is a huge riot of color over on the left side that makes it seem a little out of balance. Leaving that left corner empty with just the black background may have toned down the business - particularly since the plate looks highly decorated. I think a follow through with the black as the background would've worked best as well - there are a few 'wood' background areas. Still a fantastic shot, very impressive. 8

Stunning presentation! I like the crisp white look, really brings out the color and texture of the food. The greenery really tops this piece off - the bits around the edge are perfect. Perhaps a shift over to the right for the wine glass - just so its edges are all deliniated - not really a huge deal. Excellent job. 10

This looks good! I love the color and texture of the photo, I also like the perspective, really close in. I do wish the whole foreground was in focus though, since the photo has a 'being served' feel to me. A little more light on the area in focus may have highlighted just right - seems a bit dark to me. Well done! 7

Nice and simple set up! Lighting is good, colors are nice - I wish the background were black however as well as that bit of color in the right-hand corner. Might make things pop more. Perhaps not so close a shot/crop too. Just a little more breathing room at the top would help IMO. Other than that, I think its a great photo. 7
