Rush and Recessby zeuszenComment: I liked this one okay but felt that it could have been stronger, also. The curving lines of the ocean are nice, the placement of the subject is nice. But the bright reflection in the sunglasses suggests it is daylight and the overall darkness of the photo otherwise looks like dusk - and the tones look somewhat out of true. I'd have liked to see this brightened a bit. |

High noonby SoulHunter74Comment: I like the very vertical format on this one - it doesn't strongly convey heat to me, though. The sun glare is balanced pleasantly by the greenery at the bottom. I can believe that it's hot, it just wouldn't jump out at me as such without the title and the challenge topic. |

Oreos on Ice by dsidwellComment: Dry ice? I wouldn't expect the mist from regular ice, but it makes a nice effect. The lighting on this is also very attractive. |

Frozen Stiffby JeanComment: Brrr. A very artistic feel to this one, too, as though I am looking at some sort of bizarre sculpture. I wonder what this would look like with a more painterly/blurred effect, or in a more sharply vertical format to resemble a wall-hanging? I like it as it is, but it reminds me somewhat of some Japanese art - I'm not sure why - which is why the thoughts on format. |

Friedby PedroComment: *g* Very cute. Like the very low perspective on this one, the grit in the egg. Looks like it could have been cooked there, though the torn-up bit to the right side suggests it was moved - wonder if a slightly different angle could have hidden that without introducing other unwanted elements.... |

....coldfinger....by timboydwhiteComment: Very cool (sorry, I had to pun). I like the effect of the fingers through the ice, the difference between the ice and the snow in the background. Please say you were careful to warm fingers up after each take on this one though! Makes mine ache just to think about it.... |

'Nuff Saidby alanfreedComment: Good for a definite giggle, though the rounding on one side looks more pan-based than street-based. I've definitely met days that felt like this looks, though! |

Hot, Lazy Afternoonby jjbeguinComment: This is a nice, contented picture - I like the "vintage" feel it has. Not quite sure why it works for me - I can look at it logically, technically, and not see anything to really say, anything that really stands out to me (at my level of knowledge) - and yet it all comes together very nicely. |

Fire And Iceby Firstrich1Comment: Nice, nice, nice. This wouldn't be half so powerful witou the sunset for a backdrop, tracing lips and reflecting in the ice. Lovely colors and nice timing, to catch the drop as it falls! |
