Ever tried to find snow in the middle of the summer? Don't. So I used "poly fill" (stuff in quilts and pillows and such) and sugar, and a York Peppermint Pattie. Stretching here a bit, I know, but it was the only idea I could think of besides thermometers and stove tops.

First time I wish spot editing was allowed. Didn't notice the "lint" on the bottom of the candy till after it was uploaded, and by then, the candy was gone! ;-)

Very orginal in this challenge. This has a wonderful feeling of the cold artic blast that comes with a York Peppermint Pattie, according to the commerical. =o)

Seriously your dof used here is very shallow and works very well for this photo. Your lighting is really good, you have very limited shadowing. There is a wonderful texture here were you can see the fibers and also the grains of sugar.

I'm guessing you broke off the missing piece of the peppermint pattie cause it is so smooth and might have made more of a statement had it been bitten off with teethmarks visable rather than broken off.

It really is a cool photo and looks really good. Well done!

I like this - very traditional, and amusing. I'd swear I see fibers from something like cotton, though - not sure if I'm imagining that or not, however.

Best illustration of subject so far... In focus and a really "cool" picture.

I get the sensation that 1000 little polyester fibers are stuck in my teeth. The little hairlike things are reall visable against the dark chocolate. Honestly, this is pretty good and a great idea. nice job

Super detail. Maybe a little close to the edge of the frame, but a cracking shot anyway.

Certainly looks cool, well composed. Good job. Critique: White area is void of much texture or detail, maybe a bit overexposed.

The background is a bit hard to figure out.

Nice simplicity, I like that in a photo. I think maybe the peppermint is a bit too close to the edge of the frame, and the image looks a bit flat in the top-right, but other than that I don't have any suggestions on how to improve it. 8.

Cute! You know they're not made in York anymore...right? LOL
The only bit of distraction in the image is the fuzz from the cotton against the lower left edge of the patty.
