Browsing ports of my long-time favorite photogs and can't believe I never commented on this one - I love the strong hues, and the wonderful contrast between the cold blue of the water and the golden glow of her body.

This is a fantastic photo, and definitely depicts temperature. I love the colors and contrast. I really love that you used a mature model. There simply are not enough nudes of woman and men beyond the age of 30, and that are'nt the stereotypical model. Your model did very well! I have a feeling that the people who gave ones are those who insist on a female model with the perfect curves and or anorexic look.

what is it with people giving out 1s for nudity? I think this is a fantastic shot. The colors are rich in contrast...the cold blue of the ocean and the warm hues of her skin. It definitely represents temperature to me. Well done.

While I accept anyone's aesthetic preference, the effect you refer to was needed to emphasize the perceived surrealism inherent in the given (prior to camera interference) scene (the overly rich hues, the white chests of the pidgeons in the distance). Without it, this critical element would have been lost.

The photo was taken early in the day, btw.

I liked this one okay but felt that it could have been stronger, also. The curving lines of the ocean are nice, the placement of the subject is nice. But the bright reflection in the sunglasses suggests it is daylight and the overall darkness of the photo otherwise looks like dusk - and the tones look somewhat out of true. I'd have liked to see this brightened a bit.

Evaluating the stats:

I see forty votes in the 1 - 3 range, sixteen of which are 1's. A near equal number of voters awarded a rating between 6 and 10. The discrepancy is not quite clear to me.

Six (6!) voters commented, three of which I marked as 'helpful'. The remaining three comments were not at all helpful, since no reason(s) was (were) given to substantiate the judgements expressed. One was clearly uninformed and a little too personal and derogatory to reflect anything sincere or warrant a response.

Should be in the "nude" challenge..........

Wasn't nude the previous challenge? I suppose it must be hot then - or you're a masochist.

cooling off in the sea? I like the contrast between the skin and the sea but somehow the picture leaves me cold!

seems like the wrong challenge, somehow. Not a bad nude, though. (6)
