Running spiderby SpirievComment: Unfortunately this is one of those shots that really doesn't 'speak' to me. I don't like the overall hue - I would have preferred this in color or in a less purply B&W (keep in mind that my monitor may differ from yours). The highlights on the right hand side distract from the spider, and while I know it's difficult to capture them sometimes, the spider would have been much clearer had you been able to catch it sitting still. |

Sneaking a Peakby Nikolai1024Comment: Interesting idea, but none of it is really clear and in focus. This might have worked a little better for me if she had been in a different position or doing something rather than just standing with her back to the door. |

What is in the darkby jigglebugComment: OK. This is interesting. Not my cup of tea, but interesting. Don't really feel that it meets the challenge, though. Too much detail in the subject's immediate background that pulls the eye away from the subject. |

The Headless Horsemanby rayg544Comment: I would have liked to see a little more, or a little less detail in the statue. As it stands, there is just enough detail visible to be distracting. Also, the statue looks a little out of focus, but this may be a compression/resizing issue rather than a true 'focus' issue. |

Camouflageby mb27Comment: Great pic of the frog (toad?), but the image is a little too busy for me. Would have worked better for me without the sticks/brush in the foreground, but I know that sometimes that's the only way to get one of these shots. |

Radarby ceyvalComment: Fits the challenge quite well, but seems out of focus. I notice that you can see some of the lines are pixellated - perhaps you can try a higher resolution shot. Composition is nice, and I love the lighting. |

Tomato Cocktailby photogenixComment: While I like the idea for this one, and it does seem to fit the challenge description, I feel that the photo is too dark. More light on the tomatoes would have given a little bit more 'oomph' to your main subject. Also, since the photo is so dark, it's hard to tell how sharp the focus is. As it stands, it seems a little blurred. |

Alone in the corner ...by c3realComment: Photo is grainy and out of focus. Would have met the challenge much better IMO if the background had been solid color instead of such strongly grained wood. |

Waking up in the morning sunby lastefComment: Your horizon is tilted just enough to be noticable and a little annoying. Image seems a little busy for 'minimalism'. Very interesting concept (not to mention interesting room), though. I think this might have worked better for this challenge had the bed been empty. |

Fishing Buddiesby leescComment: The background is too busy for me too feel it meets the challenge description. If they'd been silhouetted against the sky, a cliff face, or a dam it would have made this a 'cleaner' pic and may have fit the challenge better. Also, the fishermen are a bit out of focus (which detracts from their 'stage presence' as the main subject) and your horizon is slightly tilted. |
