Alone on the playgroundsby vadviragComment: Great capture. Light is just right, I like the use of color contrasts. The child being black & white really separates him from the 'normal' enhancing that solitary or lonely feeling. I think him being on a piece of playground equipment also highlights the fact that he is alone, no friends to play with. Very nice. 8 |

Fallenby jab119Comment: Very powerful image. I love the expanse and range of blue. There is a nice tranquility with the solitude. Simple but the feeling comes across perfectly. I would rather there was a bit more light directly on the leaf, but its no biggie really. Well done. 9 |

The Grass Isn't Always Greenerby drgsoellComment: Great color, I like how you portrayed alone. Focus is good as is the lighting. I think being a little further back, so the expanse of green was larger might enhance the alone feeling. 6 |

Mourning Summerby BobsterLobsterComment: Nice composition. The colors are great, the contrasting nature of them enhances the solitude feel of the piece. The detail and focus is great. I love the way the textures of the ground and the leave show. Nicely done. 8 |

...in her fieldby crabappl3Comment: I think this is a beautiful image. Very peaceful which evokes solitude for me. The lighting is excellent, as are the colors. A nice contrast of warm and cool tones. The human element really adds to the feeling of the image. Well done. 9 |

lonely shoeby Crafty SueComment: I think the image fits the 'all alone' aspect of the challenge, its well lit and in good focus. Unfortunately, the image as a whole isn't very interesting to me. A suggestion to add some energy to the piece was to pose it in a way and in a place that made it look cast a side. Something to give it a bit more depth. 4 |

Come, O Weary Traveler! Rest under me...by kashyapaComment: My goodness. Where is this? Very interesting image. The play between gigantic and small is great, the perspective really captures the size of the boulder. Lighting is great, I'm not sure it really feels lonely or solitary to me though. Still a technically sound image. 7 |

Last one to fallby SonifoComment: Very interesting. I like the desaturation, the bit of color left really brings out the solitary aspect of the subject. Great focus on both the leaves and the bulb thing. The biggest negative impact for me though is the border. It seems intensely overdone and adds too much white. Perhaps just the inner thin border would've been sufficient. 7 |

Alone no more...by bruskiComment: Intense image. Well representing both loneliness and solitude. Black & white choice was perfect. Sharp image, good focus and lighting. Disturbing subject but well executed. Great use of space. As an aside, the tattoos look interesting. 8 |

Grado, Italyby paolobnrComment: Excellent use of space. The lack of color really sharpens the angles and contrasts. Even though the couple are not necessarily a single subject, taking them together being one works. The extreme feel of distance and the lack of any other focal points really amplifies the solitary feeling. Very well done. 8 |
