Thank you all for your helpful comments, this challenge taught me a lot.
Some reflections on your comments: It was really hard to catch him paying no attention, he started waving and smiling when he saw the camera. Next time I will pay attention to spaces and not-too-much-centered compositions. Of course, I needed PS, in order to get rid of some colours. The B&W idea came from the environment which was almost absolutely grey. Anyway, I am not sure about it now. Maybe the kid being coloured against all greys would be also an expression of being alone-coloured in this colourless world. |

Who hasn't been there... B/W might help too. |

nice coloring. i think that if he is the only child on the playground. it would meet the challenge better |

Great capture. Light is just right, I like the use of color contrasts. The child being black & white really separates him from the 'normal' enhancing that solitary or lonely feeling. I think him being on a piece of playground equipment also highlights the fact that he is alone, no friends to play with. Very nice. 8 |

I like the tones and how the boy is playing clearly on his own, no attention to the world around him. A bit more emptry space around him (if possible?) would have made it stronger. |

This is an interesting shot. Desaturation is usally used to draw attention to a subject, but here it draws the attention away. As such the shot almost works. Good job. |

I like the subject and framing. Not so sure about the desaturation, though. It distracts me from paying attention to the child. |

I like this image. However, for my own personal taste, I would have liked to have seen the subject off to one side or the other instead of being so centered. |

I really like how the reddish leaves look against the grays and earthy tones. |
