I cracked a lot of eggs (used them for french toast) then used the shells for the photos I took:) The chick was born 4 days ago. Taken in morning sunlight on a piece of weathered wood I found and held up next to a old weathered fence post to place the chick and shells on.

Extremely nice photo. I rated this one a ten. Excellent exposure and composition. Great timing to catch the chick looking back at its old home. Looks very natural. Keep up the good work, and don't be tempted to overprocess. This photo is great just as it is. Thought you might have a winner here. All the best to you. At this pace you are sure to have a winner soon.

Very nice detail. I'd like it better if it weren't off-centered.

Nice shot, i like the way the bird is looking at the egg. It's like it's saying, "I was in there?"

For the record I don't think its actually a duck but I don't care.
Looks really good, I nice contrast between fluffiness and wooden texture.

oh man, that's cute. move the framing left to not cut off eggshell, put baby more to right.
04/26/2002 06:11:00 PM
I think I would have kept the entire egg shell in the frame. Great picture all the same.

Nice job. I like your chick better than mine. Well, maybe not, no sparkle in the eye. I do like the clarity and the foreground Good luck.

04/22/2002 12:11:00 PM
Nice shot. Focus could be a tad sharper, and the image might benefit from cropping to get the bird over to the right a little bit.

I wanted to do something like this, but my father-in-law's quail don't hatch until the end of next month . . . good execution as well!
04/22/2002 07:51:00 AM
This chick looks a little older to have just hatched out of that egg. :)
