 I got to my usual spot by a rather circuitous route. The cops were directing everyone to the lots. So we (Bev and I) played dumb and followed our noses to an entrance that was below where we usually park and got me where I wanted to go. Bev didn't get to see the fireworks but she was all right with that and I will send her, at some point (she and I are both used to waiting) images that I took. Thanks for the Ride, Bev! Dinner Too!

Shot with camera on tripod and used the cable release. From the Camden, NJ side of the Delaware River by the Battleship New Jersey looking South and West to Philadelphia and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. They ran two sets of Fireworks this year, one at 6:00 p.m. on 12/31/2010 and the other at Midnight on 01/01/2011. This is from the 6:00 p.m. set. And I just have to add that it was so nice out this year. Barely any wind and in the mid forties. What a treat!

Post Processing:
Camera Raw adjustments in PSElements 6.0.
Change white balance from as shot to fluorescent (it was shot using the camera fluorescent but the change bumped the color to my liking)
Exposure +0.25
Fill Light 13
Blacks 10
Clarity 45
Vibrance +12
Saturation +12
Crop twice
Layer adjustments for levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation
Adjust sharpness
New layer, Topaz Adjust Vibrance default, merged down 33% opacity, normal blend mode
Transform perspective and distort to straighten bottom vertical

Congrats! That's exactly where I was supposed to be at 6pm, but my daughter screwed up my plans by leaving me to babysit early. I didn't want to do while dragging a 1 year old around. LOL!

Perhaps one of the best fireworks images I've ever seen. That blue is my favorite part of any fireworks display, and I know how impossibly difficult it is to capture at all, so even more so this brilliantly and clearly. Congrats on a well-deserved blue.
