Shot very early morning on the boardwalk of Lakeshore near Sunnydale. I was photographing the fog and the boardwalk when a stranger passed me, scaring the bejeepers out of me. I jumped and almost toppled my tripod :) I was only able to snap few before he disappeared into the fog.
I almost didn't submit this image, because I thought it's not the kind of image that DPC would appreciate. But I told myself, who cares, this image came from my heart. I enjoy shooting in the fog and I was pleased with it. So hopefully others will like it too...
THANK YOU ALL for the wonderful comments!

I'm so glad this image won. It sends a fantastic mood, something every one of us is trying to achieve in our photos. Good thing you decided to post it, especially as it came from the heart and it's great that so many people connected.
Oh, I LOOOOVE this photo! I am so PROUD of the voters for awarding this with its highest honor. There was a time when the voting masses weren't quite artistic enough to appreciate the artistry of something this amazing! CONGRATULATIONS!
Wow - how gorgeous! Huge congratulations! Wonderful to see such a moody monochromatic shot get the recognition it deserves. Everything here came together perfectly - that tree on the right is just the right shape, the leaves on the ground and the reflected light drizzling through, the fog swallowing your stranger. And the composition is dead-on to take advantage of all these elements. Wonderful!
How wonderful to see an image like this on the front page! It is absolutely fantastic. Dark, moody, like an old spy movie, something is going down here...congrats on the blue!!
THis is totally amazing I see why you won, are'nt you glad you entered it, sometimes those are the shots we think don't do well but they do. Well done, a fave now.
The site is still down but I am so pleased for you Nella
Welome back friend I hope all is well with you
Congratulations on your BLUE Ribbon Way to Gooooooooooooooooo!
I gave you a 9
I can not see your photo because the site is down. I am sure it's great and congratulations are in order. Really worth the ribbon. Way to go!Great 1 place.
I really like how spooky feeling this is. The squiggle in the reflections really add to that end. I might've liked to see the stranger a bit more right of center with more of the walkway to the left, so further pull us into the scene, but very good as is.

This is a really beautiful shot! For me it would have been better without about a third of the bottom part of the shot but on of the best shots of the challenge. 9
I've been sitting, staring at this image for a long time. I am hypnotized by it. To me, this is a perfect image, offering tidbits of delight in every pixel, from the glistening trails across the lined path, the geometry of the bands of light, the glow of the lights seeping through the delicate branches, the fog, the figure, the graceful shapes they all create. This is MY blue ribbon.
