I had fun shooting for this challenge, but had an awful time deciding on what to enter!! There was something that really spoke to me with this shot, but I thought that it probably wouldn't be as popular as the other ones. Melethia and Andrewt helped give me the nerve to enter it, and I'm glad, because as the week has gone on, it is definitely my favorite of the shots.

Here are the other options. Which one would you have entered?

Very emotive, especially if your a dog lover. I'd like to see shadow only, as difficult as that would be to compose!

I just realized that I had never actually checked the link to officially make this a "favorite"... sorry. I LOVE this image and know it will stand the test of time. (i.e., I promise to not be one of the ones who "unfave"... :) Awesome work! It should have scored much higher in the challenge.

Kind of surprised with some of the low scores on this one, I was one of the ones that did not like the crop but still felt it was one of the better images. The shape of the shadow is what I really like, I love the way the person hunches over and looks like an old person stopping to give the neighbor dog a treat and the way the dog is so upright and anxious to get the treat. To me the shadow tells a story which is hard to do with just a shadow. Nicely done!

This is a great shot Wendy, unfortunate the 1s,2s,& 3s did not get it. I am glad that there were a good number that actually gave this a great score. IMO the crop is perfect! and the shadows are doing their job narrating the story.

AND I love seeing the shoe tip and the doggie parts - adds greatly to the charm.

The thumb of this is magnificent. I can imagine this really large on a wall. Good stuff.

This is a fabulous shot. You have conveyed a great deal through this shadow! Really well done.

imho I would think you should have cropped out the bottom section so the dog didn't show

love this shadow. The feet at the right hand cover not sure if it adds authenticity or distraction. But i like it.

This is a captivating image!... you are holding the camera with your other hand, I assume...

I think.. you should have cropped out the bottom with the shoe and doggy bits.

I would have liked this a bit better with cropping out the feet at the bottom. They are a little distracting to the image. Doesn't change my score though. 7

Very nice. I would have cropped the dog's leg out, and kept the composition pure shadow - but his is definitely a great take on the challenge.

very good silhouette, but I think that you should have tried a little bit harder to capture the perfect photo. 7

I think this would have been an awesome shot if you would have cropped the dog out and just kept the shadow. Still a very nice image 7

My eyes are drawn to the actual dog, not the shadow - which takes up the remainder of the frame. Cropping the bottom would have given the photo more justice.

maybe a slight crop of the feet would have given you the 8 but i will drop it to a 7... good story behind the photo though.
