this is my niece ann-marie when we went for a walk today on our road ..
we were walking past a house that has a couple of dogs that bark aggressively ..
i asked her to pick katee up just in case they got thru the fence .. i had my camera etc so it was easier for her ..
when i saw katee in her arms i just had to take a pic .. havent taken many of ann-marie for a while ..
it was funny coz as soon as ann-marie picked her up i started trying to get katee's attention .. calling to her and moving around a bit so she'd look at me .. but she was totally focused on the other dogs ..
we laughed about it a few minutes later when we got further down the road .. we'd both forgotten about those barking dogs coz we were focused on katee !!.. i dont even remember if they kept barking or stopped ..
but you'd think we'd be tiptoeing past not jumping up and down and drawing attention ..!!.. :)
Beautiful shot Roz! Really enjoy the shots you take and how your photos have that Roz feel and flavor. I like how Katee is destracted by the other dogs but Ann-Marie makes the connection with her focal point. Great timing!
This is so sweet! It has a kind of dreamy feel, I love Ann-Marie's expression as she is holding Katee safe. Looks killer in b&w too. I can just hear Katee saying "nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah, you can't get me..." to those barky dogs. Love it, roz!
Lovely high key shot, I think the fact that the dog is looking at the other dogs works better then if you had actually managed to get her attention.

The light, pose/positioning, and processing elevate this to great art. It would show comfortably with a collection of classic movie star stills. Very beautiful both in the technicals and in revelation of a kind heart.
This is beautiful Roz! You need to take more pictures of your niece - she's positively stunning. She has classic old-fashioned beauty - real, pure, clean. And I love how katee feels so secure in her arms - you can see even though she's worried about those dogs she feels safe - her ears are perked. Great job taking advantage of this photo opportunity!

Two beautiful girls. I love the glow. I'm glad the other dogs didn't get out. Front page of our local paper last week had a woman and her little shih tzu which got attacked by a pit bull on the loose. Little dog lost lots of skin, needed vet's attention, and lady had her arms all bandaged up coz she picked little dog up to protect her. Nasty.
